Gaddafi Capture Video

New footage released by GlobalPost shows Muammar Gaddafi's capture by Libyan fighters from a new angle. In the video above, Gaddafi falls to his knees as he is held by a group of fighters. Although he is covered in blood, he appears to be alive.

According to GlobalPost, men in the background shout, "Don't kill him! Don't kill him! We need him alive!"

The Associated Press reports that Gaddafi also said, "What do you want? Don't kill me, my sons," as he was captured by fighters.

The Libyan dictator was captured and killed on October 20, 2011, after 42 years in power. He became the first ruler killed in the Arab Spring.

Above, watch GlobalPost's video of Gaddafi's capture. Below, see graphic photos of Gaddafi after his death.

He got what he deserved ! he was a brutal piece of s**t, and did not deserve to sit in a prison !

Gaddafi was a terrible man, and I in no way sympathize with him. But I feel that we cannot call ourselves civilized until we stop the very killing that we condone. Death should never be dealt as a punishment regardless of the severity of ones crimes. After all, an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

So, from the videos, it appears the new idiots in charge are trigger happy murderers.

What did we accomplish?

And just think: he could be sipping champagne in a mansion in Chad, Mali or Zimbabwe right now instead of being interred in an unmarked grave. Bashar al-Assad, take note.

Reverse psychology would've been a better approach: "Please kill me rather than give me over to the NATO justice system! Anything would better than being thrown in that briar patch!"

Can we please provide a few decent video cameras (and lessons on holding it stteady and aiming at the subject) along with the arms we provide. (maybe the steadycams are holding out for some BIG $ from the news media).

I have no judgment for these people, good or bad--but I truly hope that I never know what it is like to hate someone enough to want to do something like this to him.

Glad he had a look of fear on his face at the end....the people on the downed PanAM Lockerbee flight didn't even have time to know what hit them. Qadaffi got what he deserved, it just took too long to give him all he had coming to him!!

My only problem with this whole episode is that the rebels appear to be Islamic activists chanting the Islamic prayers as they capture or carry around Gaddhafi... So, what bothers me is the prospect of Libya becoming another Afghanistan... To be frank, I wouldn't be surprised if Libya's next government is a pro-Taliban regime...

Well, they are nominally a Muslim nation so it's theoretically possible that they could pray without actually being Taliban.

Looks to me like the US has supported the ouster of dictators who ruled secular governments, and now those countries are looking toward a future of Islamic rule. I see why the women of Libya were concerned, I think the entire world should be concerned.

Our only interest was in the oil though, right? I am assuming that we are expecting some payback for helping them wage war. The other issues are up to the new leaders to solve.

I don't feel any remorse for this man, but I also find no satisfaction in the way he was killed.
12:52 PM on 10/26/2011
Well, you can take that up with the next dictator who will replace him. I'm glad Qaddafi is gone, don't care how it occurred, but nothing better will replace him now, just watch!
02:58 PM on 10/26/2011
Thats unfortunately true, i think after knowing only dictatorship that the people will create a mock government, then it will desolve into factions fighting and killing each other for power and money until the next dictator is achieved.

What I find funny is that this whole time the United States tried to kill this man with bombs and rockets. But as soon as the Libyan people take this guy out the US is the first to start demanding investigations and that those involved should be "held accountable." The hypocrisy of this government never ceases to astound me.
01:01 PM on 10/26/2011
Well looks like you just do not like this government regardless of what. The US did not through any bombs or rockets, it was the UN.. US lead from behind.. we just watched and supporting the uprising which was the best way to govern, to allow the people to govern themselves. This is the way is should be, unless invasion of Iraq for unnecessary reasons. We should not stick our noses where we do not belong...We have to solve our own problems here in US.

It don`t work when the U.S. goes in to that part of the world and tries to tell everyone what to do and run everything, they get pissed and start learning how to fly commercial airliners! Just be there friends, built a few real nice muslim schools a water treatment here or there and we get happy people and cheap oil.Simple, you may laugh but Ron Paul has a point.
06:01 PM on 10/25/2011
Right and we should be okay with the fact that NATO ignored the rebel's intentions of adopting Sharia law. The same law that enslaves women, requires 4 MALE witnesses to prove rape, executes adulterers, executes anyone trying to leave Islamic faith or talk negatively about it. Yea I would rather have the old dictator then another supporter of Islamic extremists.
12:54 PM on 10/26/2011
Yes, that's going to be the next problem, who's running the show! Muslims are not know for their humanity even to other muslims, so we can only expect the worse, more of the same under yet another dictator. Muslims do not know about democratic societies and the advantages, would rather have anarchy and terrorism, so let them live with it.

Oh, darn. Now the USA will have to think of a new reason to invade.
