California artist Glenn Arthur paints sexually charged pieces featuring beautiful (and frequently naked) women, skulls, flowers and hummingbirds. Arthur is a self-taught artist with a rigorous process (that he details on his blog), who has developed a nice fan base in California -- OC Weekly named him Best Visual Artist of 2011. Arthur also has a healthy following among tattoo aficionados.
The opening reception, free and open to the public, is on Saturday from 8-11 p.m., with music by roots musician Mateo Monk. The exhibition runs until Nov. 13.
