Francisco Costa Wants Kate Middleton To Wear Calvin Klein

Kate Middleton is an established fashion plate - her Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton wedding dress is valued at $1 million, has the power to turn undiscovered brands into household names and continues to stun at event after event.

Who wants to dress the Princess of Cambridge next? Francisco Costa of Calvin Klein. At a recent event, the Telegraph spoke to the designer:

"She's very Calvin, when you think about it," muses Costa, who was in London last week hosting a dinner at The Commonwealth Institute which is in the process of being turned into a new home for The Design Museum by John Pawson. "She's athletic looking, with great teeth and amazing hair - in many ways she looks like an all American Girl. So yes, I'm putting it out there: I'd love to dress her".

Don't think this girl will 'pose' for any magazine covers for years. Unlike Diana, who really opened the window with the press, Catherine will not. This girl is older and wiser and not in need of approval from her husband.

She is Princess Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. NOT Princess of Cambridge. Cambridge is a title in the gift of the Crown. She is a Princess because she married a Prince in direct succession to Elizabeth II.

She is not Princess Catherine. She won't be called Princess Catherine unless the Queen makes her a Princess on her own right. Even Wikipedia has this right.

She is Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge; HRH The Duchess of Cambridge; or her official name: Princess William.

She can't be called Princess Catherine because she is not a born-Princess nor was she made her own HRH when she married William. She only took his names and titles.

When William becomes the heir, Kate won't be called "Princess Catherine of Wales", she'll be HRH The Princess of Wales, again taking on William's title.

Even Diana wasn't Princess Diana. It was the public who kept calling her that. She wasn't made an HRH on her own, either. So when she divorced Charles, her HRH was taken away since her title and status as Princess was only an extension of Charles's, not her own.

British common law and years of precedent mean that she is, indeed a princess. Her title is Princess Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. That is what she has been titled since her wedding.

When will the press stop referring to this woman as Kate Middleton. She is married to Prince William, who will one day be King of England. He is the Duke, she is his Duchess.

Why would the Duchess of Cambridge waste her time, wearing hideous clothing like Mr. Costa's designed for Calvin Klein in the video above? There is nothing elegant, no sense of timeless classics about that collection's clothing; they are androgynous, drab and unappealing.

My thoughts exactly. No classic elegance, and no real style. Did they find a good sale on fabric of that particular color of what------------almond? I don't think we'll be seeing the Duchess in any of those clothes.
