'The Office' Welcomes Back Catherine Tate: British Comedian Plays Major Story Arc

Office

There have been a lot of changes around "The Office" but now fans can rest easy welcoming someone familiar back.

TVLine reports that the laugh-out-loud British comedian Catherine Tate is returning to the show this February and will remain on through the rest of the season.

Tate is revisiting her role as special project manager Nelly Bertrum, who was also one of the possible Michael Scott (Steve Carell) replacements.

Apparently, Nelly begins a "far from professional" relationship with James Spader’s ever-intimidating Robert California.

I wonder why are they staged as a Seurat painting?

It is ironic that you have used a parody of George Seurat's "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grand Jatte" to illustrate a story about "The Office." Seurat painted it as a political statement, showing that the bourgeoisie was artificial and superficial, which is exactly how I feel about "The Office."

She wasn't particularly funny or interesting in her previous appearance.

Too bad a trade-in wasn't required.

Pam and Jim are just dead-weight and arguably The Most Boring Couple to ever inhabit a sitcom.

Almost anything is better. . .

Except maybe 2-1/2 Men now that Kutcher is delivering a slow coup de gras that's painful to watch.

Unless she's showing up in a TARDIS, I think I'll be able to contain my excitement.

Wouldn't it be great if they put in just a little something to reference that?

Yes, that would be sweet :)

I think the writer means reprising, not revising, her role.

It's was a prophetic mistake as I'm sure Jessie Heyman will be revising this article.

Nothing can save this show now. It's been dead for a couple of years. American shows mess up by trying to go on forever. Everything has a shelf life. I loved the first few seasons but the last couple have been lame. This current season is dreadful.

I don't really watch anymore. I saw a bit of the first couple of shows while my wife was watching it. It seemed very lame compared to the show I used to like. Do you need me to explain anything else to you?

I love Catherine Tate but I'm sick of all the guest stars. Howe about hiring some good writers?
