Kim Kardashian's Movie Role In Tyler Perry's 'The Marriage Counselor'

Now that she dominates reality television, fashion and nightlife coast to coast, Kim Kardashian has set her sights on the biggest spotlight of them all: the big screen.

The reality star/designer/businesswoman/HuffPost Game Changer has joined the cast of Tyler Perry's next film, "The Marriage Counselor," she tweeted Friday night. Based on one of Perry's plays, the film tells the story of a marriage counselor whose own marriage begins to fall apart when her husband's parents move in. She begins to cheat on her husband, and Kardashian will play a co-worker who takes her to the big city for a makeover.

The role dovetails well with her recent, televised marriage to NBA player Kris Humphries. The announcement was also a great birthday gift for Kardashian; she turned 31 on Friday.

Kardashian has featured in small parts in two films in the past, "Deep in the Valley" and the spoof, "Disaster Movie." She also featured on a number of episodes of the surf show, "Beyond The Break," as well as an episode of "CSI: NY" in 2009.

She, of course, is best known for her multitude of TV shows, including "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" and "Kourtney and Kim Take New York."

The co-star of that latter series, her older sister Kourtney, guest starred on the soap opera "One Life To Live" in March, while another Kardashian sister, Khloe Kardashian Odom, guested on "Law and Order: LA." All three sisters have made a multitude of appearances as guests on TV talk shows.

The Kardashians have spiral up the success ladder with a simple reality show. Actors continue to label reality stars as 'not real actors', but with KK in a Tyler movie role, are people able to look beyond the silly show and label them as genuine actors or hate them even more. I think all of the hate comments against Kim (and her sisters) are so intersting. Here you have a family that has made themselves into household names through hard work and excellent publicity and you people hate on them for their success. I think Kris Jenner is brilliant. She has built an empire for her family and they, and future Kardashian generations to come, are financially set. I can only think the haters are jealous, wish they were living the life, and just do not have the brains, beuaty and booty to make themselves a success.

I agree with the exception that many people are jealous. I personally don't find putting my life on display for others, called entertainment. Let's not forget how Kim got famous in the first place....... As much as they try to change her image, she will forever be remembered in starting her fame in a sex tap. She learned from her friend Paris how to become famous, and luckily was guided by her mother to learn from Paris' mistakes.

Kris Jenner is billiant in the sense of learning to profit off her children. As a mother, I personally don't think it is wise or healthly to be a "manager" of my kids career. Look what happened to other entertainers that once had parent's manager their career.

Kim originally got famous while being out with Parish Hilton as well as being Hilton's (and others) stylist. Her father helped her go into business reselling clothes from her closet (and others) when she was 19 after finding out that she had gotten married in secret. Ray J could not have sold one copy of that tape if Kim had not already made a name for herself. Considering the business savvy of Kris Jenner as well as Kim's biological father, how can anyone say that this family is not one business savvy bunch. I like watching their show. It is a lot better than most of the so-called reality shows and their familial bonds are an inspiration. So please stop hating and go out and find your own passion to follow.
