The Washington Post:

It was a critical plan to jump-start the economy.

President Obama pledged at the beginning of his term to boost the nation’s crippled housing market and help as many as 9 million homeowners avoid losing their homes to foreclosure.

Nearly three years later, it hasn’t worked out.

Banks that approved an $800K mortgage to the borrower with $50L income are just as guilty as the borrower, and should pay for their mistake.

The problem is, our public monies are intertwined with these private banks.  Public monies need to be separated out.  Banks need to be split between commercial and investment.  THEN, they can manage their investments anyway they want.  Read More...

Huff subscriber's comment - "Cannot blame bank CEO's legally they've don't nothing wrong!"

My reply!
This is why you are a joke. We are country of laws yes -- but what is important in our laws is the spirit of the law. The spirit of the law is what is divine and noble for the betterment of man! Today with all the expensive battery of lawyers the rich and powerful have in their stable why? So they can circumvent the written law -- and pay only lip service, or better stated " no mind" to the spirit of the law that binds us all. ..In legalees, our written laws cannot put a finger on them --.and that is probably not true either because there has not been any investigations. But everyone knows these CEO's and others, broke the spirit of the law, our trust for one and knowingly doing so -- and probably may times and my laws.

This is not a surprise. its by design.

Obama works for the banks because its the banks that are paying for his reelection campaign.

Well, as we kids used to say:

"No S*it, Sherlock"

A President can do little on his own...our Constitution says so.

ALL legislation (that's called "bills" for those with a poor grasp of the language), ALL bills, ALL appropriations (that means money) MUST come from Congress.

If Congress does nothing...nothing gets done.

This is exactly why we are stagnant, the economy isn't speeding up, why there are no jobs, our credit rating is lowered, why many are losing their homes, why schools don't have supplies, teachers, police and fire departments have been cut...and every ill plaguing our country.

The leadership in the House and the GOP leadership in the Senate have said their number one job is to ruin the Obama admin; making sure he doesn't get re-elected. House leadr Boehner and his attack dog Cantor, McConnell in the senate has said, publicly, on TV and from the floor they will block EVERYTHING sent to them by Dems, committees and the President.

Look to your do-nothing Republican legislator in your state.Direct your anger where it belongs.

If not, it's gonna be a real hard year for we, the people.

A year of this BS before we can vote these Boobs out of office and bring in true patriots who love thier country and who won't honor any pledge except the Oath they take.

Prices are on their way down and won't stop until they roll back to early 1990's levels.

Why buy a house today when you can buy one later for 60% less?

The government is more into helping itself then helping the people. You can't help people by stealing other people's money. That hurts everyone.

They are just as ignorant as you. Theft and violent threats against peaceful people will never lead to a peaceful society.

You have a poor understanding of the situation. Replace "government" with "banks", because its the banks that control the government.

In addition to being frightened of what's going to happen in our country, i kinda laugh when people on hear post, let the market fix itself and we will be alright eventually. It's that kind of thinking that is part of the problem. Have we not learned that the market is manipulated? How the heck will that fix anything.

United we stand, divided we fall, and if our backs should ever be against the wall, we'll be together. I really used to believe that and I don't want to give up. I'm just a little bit nervous right now of what will happen to our country.

What will happen to our country depends upon what happens at the voting booth in the next year or so.

We always get the government we deserve.

If you aren't happy with what's happening, show up at the ballot box.

We aren't being captured or kidnapped....we have given ourselves away.

I'm always amazed at how many truly ignorant people we have in our country.

Education is free, libraries are free, our government is open and on CSpan, everything the government does is accessible online and yet, here come people like you....

It's a sad commentary, really. Thankfully, you fringers are only about 20%of the population.

I don't think I can blame President Obama because his program was unworkable. He appeared to have good intentions, but once in office and could see the reality of the housing problem, he realized there wasn't enough money in the entire country to bail out the people who bought homes they couldn't afford. I fault the banks that had no dog in the hunt who allowed people to buy homes they couldn't afford, then sold off the mortgages as quickly as they could. If a bank can sell off a mortage then they have no stake in it's worth. They don't care if you can pay it off, it doesn't belong to them any more. Banking laws should never have been changed to allow this practice.

Why would I get anything from it at all. It's where I live. I care not what the price is today or tomorrow. In two years I own it and I'll live in it until I pass.

Charlie Muuger can't have my house, I won't sell it to him.

NEWS_FLASH. In an apparently acknowledgement that Obama is completely incapable of working across party lines and to truly lead from the middle.....S0cialist Obama will once again try his hand at dictating law via his government agencies.

Voters to vote him out in 2012
