Los Angeles Magazine's Food Event: Zebras & Bison Greet Wine Nerds & Foodies

November seems a little late to be hosting an outdoor grub and booze fest, but yesterday's sunny Sunday afternoon in Malibu transported guests of Los Angeles magazine's sixth annual Food Event back to the beginning of summer.

The zebras of Saddlerock Ranch were back to help host the culinary event, which celebrated the release of Los Angeles magazine's November "Food Lovers Guide" issue with copious amounts of food and wine -- while supplies lasted, of course. Tents set up around the lawn served up bites of food from the city's hottest restaurants while tables manned by California's wineries offered pinots and rieslings to grabby guests.

Check out our photos of the best noshes at the Los Angeles food event, as well as the menagerie of exotic animals that surrounded the fest.

Most Decadent: Waterloo & City

It seems as if there's a food and wine event every week, but the best manage to stand out from the rest by bringing together Los Angeles' most seasonal and inventive chefs. This was one of them, but it isn't even the last of them for 2011. That honor goes to LA Loves Alex's Lemonade Stand, a fundraiser spearheaded by chefs Suzanne Goin and David Lentz to help fight childhood cancer.

We'll see you there!
