Madonna Booed By Crowds At 'W.E.' London Premiere, Feels Connected To Wallis Simpson

If there's one thing Madonna knows it's that you can't please all the people all the time.

And one would imagine that after her film "W.E." received such varied reviews, the envelope-pushing singer might again end up in some hot water.

But had she predicted the response would be this bad?

At the BFI London Film Festival premiere of "W.E," the singer was booed by fans. Madonna, however, paid no mind to the hissing crowds, saying that like The Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson, she too was "misunderstood."

The movie toggles "Julie & Julia"-style between the famous story of King Edward VIII's abdication of the British throne for his American lover, Simpson, and a unhappily married New York woman, whose obsession with Simpson leads to her own scandalous affair.

The film's controversy stems from claims of the royal pair's sympathy for the Nazi cause, which the film dismisses.

As crowds booed the singer, she told Sky News, "I do know what it is like to be misunderstood on a global scale." Madonna said she had made the film because she was so enraptured by the relationship of Simpson and the Duke of Windsor.

Clearly, her interest in the infamous lady is not purely academic.

"She lived at a time when women didn't have the opportunities that they do now. She [Wallis] didn't have the chance to defend herself so I'm taking that opportunity now."

"W.E." is scheduled to hit theaters Dec. 9.

When one looks at the actual photos of Wallis Simpson one can't help wondering what it was that made a man give up the throne of England for her. She must have been one fascinating woman.
She certainly was no beauty.

Ten years down the road and she'll be MADONNA WHO???

If Wallis was "misunderstood"...I guess that Eva Braun had a 'misunderstanding' about concentration camps being places to help Jews focus.

The surest sign that a person is of little substance is when they use a terrible phony accent...and pretend that you don't notice. Even the most well-intentioned, pro-Wallis biographers have come away disillusioned when faced with the entirety of her persona...yet Madonna sees a kindred spirit? That does not speak well for her at all.

What this is really all about is Madonna's fixation on being a member of the aristocracy. She fixated on Eva Peron, she married a highly regarded British director, started wearing frumpy dresses and jewelry like those of the Queen, adopted that dreadful accent( so much for Detroit!)...and now she's a revisionist swill merchant with this ill-advised biography.

I can certainly understand her interest in the romantic aspects of this story, as it was unprecedented in modern history. Then again...I'm sure good ol' uncle Adolf probably said a few swell things about his beloved Eva as well--but do we need to see a movie about that too?

What's next...directing Mel Gibson in a movie about female empowerment called "Sugar T@#s?!

Never has so much been made of so little. Her mediocrity knows no bounds. It is a sign of societal collapse that she even has a career in the entertainment business. Her claim to fame is being a bad actress, a second-rate singer lip syncing to computer generated songs, and a horrible role model for young women everywhere. The cherry on the cake is her obvious conceit and condescension toward average people.

She even treats her own family like dirt. Look at how badly she treated her father in the movie "Truth Or Dare". She was so rude and dismissive towards him that it made me feel sorry for him. Later, she invited her family members to attend her wedding but made them pay for their own airfare and accommodations. Now, her oldest brother is reportedly homeless but I doubt she will lift a finger to help him.

Did we see the same "Truth or Dare" movie? You know, the one with Madonna I saw shows a completely sweet girl around her dad, a completely different person from what we see on stage. Oh, and on the same movie, she even brings her dad on stage to sing "happy birthday" to him (which no one has to do and was totally unexpected by him as he put it).

Your comment is not only ignorant but full of hate. What has Madonna ever done to you for you to blatantly LIE about the content of her movie?

Don't forget that her dad also appears on a second documentary by Madonna, "I'm gonna tell you a Secret", this time, making wonderful comments on her and her life.

She probably being booed due to her constant ungracious and elitist behavior toward others.

She's very rude to her fans.

You can see dozens of average women at a shopping mall on any given day that are far better looking than that worn out old horse.
