Bill O'Reilly On 'Today': Matt Lauer Mocks Fox News Host (VIDEO)

WATCH: Matt Lauer Owns Bill O'Reilly

Bill O'Reilly stopped by "The Today Show" on Monday to talk politics, the economy, and his new book "Killing Lincoln." Matt Lauer interviewed the Fox News host and enjoyed some friendly banter with his fellow broadcaster.

When the conversation turned to "Killing Lincoln," O'Reilly interrupted Lauer and called him out for not reading his new book. Lauer said that he has not yet read it because he has been busy "reading things for other guests..."

O'Reilly shot down Lauer's excuse. "You haven't been reading anything for other guests," O'Reilly said. He added, "you're in bed at five in the afternoon!"

Lauer then mocked O'Reilly for his seemingly shameless self-promotion and said, "I'm going to get the title out here for you...because I know that it's a bestseller. I know you haven't mentioned it on your show yet."

Lauer and O'Reilly started laughing as did the people who were on "Today's" set but off camera.

O'Reilly has been on book tour promoting "Killing Lincoln" for a couple of months. He sparred with Joy Behar on "The View" and got close with David Letterman on "Late Night With David Letterman."
