Colbert Tests 'Corporations Are People' Message With Conservative Pollster Frank Luntz (VIDEOS)

Colbert Corporations People

First Posted: 10/25/11 06:31 PM ET Updated: 12/25/11 05:12 AM ET

The surrealist spectacle that is the Colbert Super PAC dished out another great moment in absurdity on Monday night, as Colbert sat down with conservative strategist and pollster Frank Luntz to discuss his overall message. First things first, though, Colbert had to decide what his Super PAC's message actually was.

After crowd-sourcing supporters, Colbert settled on "Corporations Are People" as his raison d'etre.

With the message clear, the "Report" host then needed to find a way to make it palatable. Enter Luntz, political consultant and frequent Fox News commentator. Watching Luntz try to get a straight answer out of Colbert, and Colbert in turn try to get what his answer should be out of Luntz is a little slice of heaven.

Watch all three parts of the segment below, and let us know in the comments how you could be convinced that corporations are indeed people.

Do they have a soul to save, a heart to break, a family to feed, a mind to bend or a body to incarcerate? If the answer is no to any of these, it is most likely not a person.

Republicans have no sense of humor. Luntz was playing it straight. "People are corporations" You won't have to wait long, the Supreme Court will declare "People are corporations"

Look at Frank Luntz in these clips. I'm actually quite reluctant to label people as "evil", but the face of Luntz is the pasty-white, yellow-toothed face of genuine evil. How someone comes to such a sociopathic mindset is beyond my understanding. This person is disgusting and appalling. He's like a James Bond movie villain brought to life. And not a cool one like Red Grant, but a lame one like Hugo Drax.

Luntz is a sc.umb.ag.

He's gone on record detailing how he manipulates and loads questions to get the result desired from his benefactors.

Colbert has such a quick wit. This was very funny, but also fascinating. How is it that Luntz doesn't know what Colbert is doing? What I really love about these segments Colbert does with other people is he has fun with them and laughs with them and they really seem to enjoy being with him, no matter what their politics or positions on various issues. Jon Stewart does the same thing, but is more serious in the interviews because he can be himself while Colbert is playing a part. Definitely two of the best shows on TV.

Colbert is brilliant. Not just the guy, but the entire idea. When Colbert ran for president, you could tell he took comedy to a different level.

I don't think Frank understands what type of comedian Colbert is. Makes this all the more hilarious.

Luntz is a self-admitted student of popular culture and I think he totally gets Colbert's comedy and is having fun playing along.
