Halloween Crafts: Styrofoam Tombstone

Make Your Own...Tombstone?

Faux tombstones will instantly bring the Halloween spirit to your home. The key thing to remember: The older they look, the spookier they'll be. Luckily, it's easy to make "antique" gravestones. All you need to do is cut Styrofoam to look like a tombstone, trace and cut out a pattern with an x-acto knife (check out these free stencils free stencils), then carefully apply a few layers of brown, gray, black and white paint so it looks like real stone. You can also add faux moss and mud to the gravestone for an aged effect. To make the scene extra scary, we love the idea of sticking a fake hand in the dirt in front of the tombstone, to make it seem as though the dead are rising for All Hallow's Eve!
