Jenna Lyons' Divorce Turns Messy: Report

Even the people with the most (seemingly) charmed lives have their problems.

New York Post reports today on the unraveling mess of Jenna Lyons' divorce, as the J. Crew creative director split from her husband Vincent Mazeau this summer.

Lyons, who's beloved for her iconic high-low style, is currently in battle with her estranged husband over their fortune (which is substantial -- in 2009, Lyons received a bonus of $1 million) as well as their son, Beckett.

Lyons is famous for her chic lifestyle, which extended beyond clothes and to the sophisticated Brooklyn townhouse she shares with Mazeau. Now Mazeau, writes the Post, is asking for that home as well as a large settlement, saying that he sacrificed his career to allow Jenna to rise professionally.

On the other hand, says a source, Lyons gave her husband the ability to pursue his artistic career with her J. Crew-funded financially stability.

It's a mess made even messier by an additional detail: according to Page Six, "we're told Lyons has fallen in love with another woman who also works in the fashion business."

Let the guessing game begin, folks.

Divorce is messy. Period. And when there is a child involved, it becomes more important than ever for the parents to speak wisely, especially in front of the child. Rule #1: Never put down your ex in front of your child..ever. As to child support, if it's a community property state where no-fault divorce is in play, assets are divided 50-50, and the spouse that is able, pays more for child support. Wake up!! It's 2011, not 1956. Men stay home, women work. Women love women, men love men. SO WHAT!!!!

First question: Is that Jenna's REAL nose or is it clipped on to those plastic glasses? Second of all, I don't see the attractive blond girlfriend they are describing..I see a dumpy, medium brunette with a perpetual scowl and paper sack dresses looking very unhappy having to accompany her equally gay brother around town.I give it 6 months. Poor Beckett.

It's almost comical to see logic applied where it has never been applied before. Providing your spouse financial stability has been the REASON the courts force continued spousal maintenance...the spouse got used to it so it has to continue to be paid, no matter who files for the divorce. It will be interesting to see if the court sticks to its chauvinistic guns when it deals with a woman who allowed a man to stay home. Think they will give her the child and put a limit on his spousal maintenance, deeming him capable of supporting himself, while charging HIM child support, even if he spent more time with the child? If we are to believe in equality, then since he stayed home with the child, and was supported by her, he continues to be the custodial parent, she pays 25-30% of her income to him for the child's care AND she provides spousal maintenance for the rest of his life. Or do you think there will be a different outcome when genders change roles in the court? Interesting, very, very interesting... I'll be watching this one.

As a man he has the privilege statistically to earn more more with the same or less effort- the bum should get off his butt and make his own way, I doubt he put his education and career on hold for her.
It's just fact that on average a mother will sacrifice more for her children.

How sad...if a man stays home with the children, he's a bum? If the roles were reversed, you would be screaming that poor woman. She put everything on hold for him, took care of the house and raised his children, she should get the house, the children child support and alimony. Why the double standard?

Jenna is actually quite a beautiful woman with a very distinct appeal. It's sad that the media plays these games with their image bank depending on where they'd like to lead you. So sad most of you fall for that trap everyday. Grow up and respect all people.

The person with the greater amount of assets usually resents splitting the money. Traditionally, that has been the male...and that's why the typical complaint from men is..she took me to the cleaners. Here the situation is reversed...but if she's smart, she will settle and move on with her life. As for the son, hopefully they can work something out...that doesn't involve court action.

it's these things called muscles! yay! People have facial muscles that are a group of striated muscles innervated by the facial nerve that, among other things, control facial expression! yay!...when a person is talking or laughing some of these muscles get put in action! yay! If a camera takes a shot in the midst of these muscles in motion a variety of face expressions can be captured! can you imagine?!
