Jennifer Hudson & David Otunga Call It Quits?

Contrary to a recent Star magazine report, Jennifer Hudson's rep has denied rumors that the singer has called off her wedding to David Otunga.

"I can confirm that the story is not true," the representative told the E! network.

The rumors come a little over a month after the Academy Award-winner's announcement that she and Otunga had set a date to tie the knot, after a three-year engagement. "I've always had a [wedding] date!" she told In Touch Weekly, "I just haven't told anybody! So it's set!"

The American Idol alum, 30, and WWE star David Otunga - who have a 2-year-old son, David Jr. - are on the outs, clashing over Jennifer's career obsession, commitment issues and reluctance to have more children.

"They were going to tie the knot in August in Jennifer's hometown of Chicago... but it's not going to happen," an insider reveals.

The couple has yet to respond publicly themselves to the allegations.

Why is it people have the impression that she has money? Her albums have not done great. She has only been in a few movies and most she didn't have top billing so she wasn't get paid top billing money. I would think that David, as a wrestler, is making far more consistent money than she.

Endorsements pay...and she has had endorsements up the wazoo. Weight Watchers, Avon, and don't think that she isn't getting paid for movies. She may have supporting parts, but there's the "backend" deal to these movies. Every name actor gets a backend deal.
Of course her records don't sell in the millions, but she still gets royalties on sales.

You would think wrong. As Chicago0048 pointed out, she isn't hurting, what with the ad campaigns and the backend deals on movies, and her records sell respectably, even if she's no Beyoncé. The bigger point is that of the two of them, she is clearly the one making the bank, and she always has been. He may have an HLS degree, but he wasn't at a big firm long enough to have put away a financial cushion. And no reputable firm will hire him now after the complete clown he made of himself on reality TV and on the WWE (he's now some kind of off-brand legal advisor to WWE wrestlers; he's not even a wrestler anymore), even if there weren't a recession. So the fact that he's balking at a pre-nup just isn't a good sign. She was always more famous than he was, and she was always making more money; as a lawyer, he had to expect her to protect herself.

He didn't just help her through her grief when her family died out of compassion; he also did it because he thought that if he hung in there, they'd be married and he could financially benefit. Call me jaded, if you want.

I think she can do better. I also think she should find a man who is very successful but either behind the scenes in the industry or someone who is out of the industry (and still very successful) altogther. Her star is too bright for her to be held down by someone who doesn't have his own and who is acting like a punk by refusing to sign a pre-nup.

Just thought of something... She says her date was an August date. She and he were supposed to have married this past August. If they did not and I doubt they will get married all the way into August 2012, so he is effectively out of luck and moving away from being married to Jennifer. It will be four years and doubt that the engagement will materialize into a wedding.

When you hit the three-year mark at an engagement, I think you've got a 60/40 chance that the wedding isn't going to happen, and every year after that the "it's not happening" odds increase by 10%.

The "worse" **IS** KNOWING. I didn't know or SEE who my husband was with before me and what they were doing, but EVERYBODY who watched "I Love New York" SAW who was doing what to her nasty behind.

And again, I say, "Ugh!" Just KNOWING is bad enough but SEEING him put his mouth on her, TOO? Naw, that's doing too much. I couldn't look at him the same after that. AND he answered to the nickname, "Punk"? Seriously? Double ugh.

(And TRUST, before I got married, if a guy who was trying to date ME was tied to some scandalous, nasty broad, he didn't stand a chance. If he would first go on a reality show to date Miss New York, I doubt Jennifer should have taken him seriously in the first place. Not serious enough to go to bed with him and not serious enough to have a baby by him. Also, I think that if he did help her out when she was grieving, normally, that person is not a person one spends their life with unless ALL the kinks are fully ironed out. By the fact that he does not want to sign a prenup, it says that he expects, like Kevin Fedderline to get paid. He graduated from Harvard, never heard him do anything connected to the degree, came out talking about he wanted to be a wrestler. Sadly, this brother seems like trouble from the word go!!! If Jennifer did not know this guy was not about anything, doesn't someone near her have a televison and Tvo? Be thankful that the only remnant is she has a son by him. We live and we learn...I really pray we do.

If true, I am relieved. Now, remember he did help her through her grief dealing with her family. Remember, no matter what they share a child together, so there will always be a "relationship" even if it is their son. However, from Miss New York to Jennifer, she almost stepped into something that would have been more difficult to get out of and get through. Won't sign prenup, expecting something besides happy ever after. Don't blame here, look at Whoopie, and others who had to give up half what they make to the man, not including Madonna or J Lo, they don't mind paying a man to Go.
