A black-tie gala featuring past and current WAMU voices will be held Saturday at the the National Building Museum. Carl Kasell of National Public Radio's quiz show "Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me!" will emcee -- Paula Poundstone, also from "Wait, Wait," is a featured guest. Past general managers, producers and on-air talk and music personalities will be honored at the gala. The Gibson Brothers will play bluegrass; D.C. big band ensemble Doc Scantlin and His Imperial Palms Orchestra will bring the vintage jazz.
The live auction offerings include dinner for 11 with Kojo Nnamdi, a trip to France with Diane Rehm, a "lucky dog" package that includes attending a taping of "The Animal House" with Dr. Gary Weitzman, veterinarian, executive director of the Washington Animal Rescue League, and Huffington Post blogger.
