Michelle Obama Wears Orange, Black For Halloween Trick-Or-Treating (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 10/30/11 03:15 PM ET Updated: 11/02/11 08:42 AM ET

Like a good theme-dresser, Michelle Obama donned black and orange for yesterday's White House trick-or-treating.

Joined by President Obama, FLOTUS greeted area students and children of military families for Halloween, handing out cookies, "White House M&M's" and trail mix with plenty of dried fruit (gotta lower those child obesity rates!).

Although the kids showed up in a variety of fun get-ups (we spy an Angry Bird...), the First Lady kept it simple: black coat, black bejeweled bangles, boots and an orange striped dress that looks like it's by ASOS (although it could be Diane Von Furstenberg).

Michelle's mother, Marian Robinson, got a little more creative with her rabbit costume, complete with ears and drawn-on whiskers.

Below, see video and pictures of the First Family celebrating Halloween!

I love it - had about 30 kids come to my door for treat/trick - had so much fun - from the smallest to the teenagers they were all quite polite -

What a lovely First Family ! We have never had a more personable First Family; so " common folk" in the best sense of the words. They make me smile, and I'm very proud they represent us, and I'm a 68yr old/.female Republican.

I like your comment, I was a big fan of Betty Ford because of the way she dealt with life. It had nothing to do with party, I just thought she was a genuine person.

Her Mother is a cute bunny and I adore the First Family as they personify giving and enjoyment of family life during the Holidays. Sharing is a sign of caring and I believe these two care about the people of the USA.

just remember that it was all about the children. It was an experience they will never forget.

Not a fan of Obama, but he does have two trick or treat age kids, so if he wasn't supposed to be celebrating Halloween, then the world would rag him for not being a good dad. So, can't win for losing here I guess.
