Stephen Tulloch 'Tebowing' After Sacking Tim Tebow In Lions-Broncos Game (VIDEO)

First Posted: 10/30/11 06:57 PM ET Updated: 10/30/11 09:57 PM ET

This was bound to happen. In the final minutes of first quarter, Detroit linebacker Stephen Tulloch ran down Tim Tebow and dragged him down for a sack. Then he decided to celebrate in the new pose that has been sweeping the nation since Denver's thrilling comeback win over Miami last week.

That's right. Tulloch Tebowed after sacking Tebow.

Later in the game, Detroit's Tony Scheffler scored on a 1-yard touchdown catch and decided to get in on the "Tebowing" too.

The Broncos went on to get crushed 45-10.

According to Denver native Jared Kleinstein's Tebowing website, Tebowing means "to get down on a knee and start praying, even if everyone else around you is doing something completely different."

Although Tebow said earlier in the week that he sees the new phenomenon as a blessing, I doubt he likes it when opposing defenses do it.

Tebow is not good at football. I'm sure he's got a fine life in front of him, it just doesn't involve the NFL for very much longer.

This should end the Tebowing craze. Tulloch won. That can't be topped.

Since these poor folks believe that their god controls all, why don't they celebrate when the drop a pass, or strike out, or miss a shot?
Why celebrate only the good if god makes bad things happen, too!?!

I thought it was pretty tasteless. Tebow is probably a very nice guy, it's not his fault that the media gushed over him while at Florida. It's not his fault that the Broncos FOOLISHLY drafted him in the 1st round. No, he's not a good QB right now. Yes, he needs a ton of work to get better at what he's being paid to do. But he doesn't go out there and try to rub anyone the wrong way. He doesn't instigate things in the media, he just plays as hard as he can. You don't have to kick a guy like that when he's down.

I think Tulloch is probably a nice guy too. Probably just as nice as Tebow. I think it's ok to have fun while playing a game dont you?

He's not down. He's an eternal optimist. You think he's down he doesnt. I admire him for that. It's just too bad he doesnt have the talent to do what he was drafted and paid too much to do. You cant teach accuracy.

Such irony. God was on the Lions' side on Sunday.

The "move" blasted around the 'net as a trend that was going to replace "planking". That's why most people are doing it, not for the "religious" aspect that so many seem bent on attaching to it.

Tulloch was treating it as such.

When will O'Reilly weigh in? I'm sure this will be lumped in with the "war on christmas".

What happened when Tim Tebow got on his knee and prayed on Sunday?

"...you have reached a prayer channel that is no longer in service, If you have reached this channel by accident please hang up and try again..." Dial Tone!

If I hear the word "blessing" one more time, it's lights out, at the end of the day, 110%.

Kellen Winslow Sr. attributed his heroics from "THE GAME" in 1982 to his decision to "leave every bit of energy on the field and leave the results up to God." The night before, what has come to be known as "THE GAME" players were debating whose side God would be on if their were Christians on both teams. Winslow decided all he could control was his effort and leave the results to God. What resulted was beauty on a footbal field if such a things is possible. I was watching that game as a 7 year old kid and will never forget it!
