Brian Williams, Jon Stewart Chatting On 'Rock Center' (VIDEO)

Brian Williams

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 10/31/11 01:12 PM ET Updated: 10/31/11 09:50 PM ET

"Rock Center With Brian Williams" announced that Jon Stewart will be the show's inaugural guest during its premiere Monday night.

Williams made the announcement during NBC's "Sunday Night Football" and on the "Today" show Monday. He also showed Al Roker his fancy new studio.

The studio has two separate sections. On one side, a traditional news desk sits in front of what Williams has described as the show's "handsome" logo. Across the studio, two couches were separated by a small coffee table. Roker and Williams sat on the couch where Stewart's interview will presumably take place.

Williams has appeared on Stewart's "The Daily Show" numerous times, and it has been widely reported that the two media men were good friends. Stewart does not visit other shows on a regular basis so this can be considered a notable "get" for Williams' new program.

Williams has been out promoting "Rock Center" for weeks. He has appeared on many of the NBC properties including "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" and "Today." "Rock Center" has also released two promo videos that feature its all star lineup of NBC talent.

And not one with the courage to tell the plain truth. There is no more wearying television than a bunch of bad liars taking over each other. FUXSNOOZ: Yo Gabba Gabba for psychopaths.

Sorry that they didn't have any bleached blondes on the screen so you could bust one out. You know where to find them. In the meantime, some of us enjoy intelligent discussions on news shows.

Williams should have planned a little more about what to talk about. There segment seemed awkward. I think he tried to force the humor a bit too much. He should have used the time to talk about some serious issues and let the chemistry and humor flow a bit more naturally.

I don't know if he thought his audience wouldn't know Stewart or what, but it seemed to me like he really wasted an excellent guest spot with some fluff and casual talk.

I think Williams is a bit more used to Stewart leading the conversation when those two are together.

I thought it was humorous and was typical of how they push each other gently in a funny way, certainly not awkward.

They are shills that are bought and paid for my other networks to damage competitors....I believe most of the shilling is bought off shore in India because it is cheaper to do this kind of work from there.

IT's usually the same old folks...Faux, Newscorp. Limbaugh and Koch...probably a super pac paying for it too.

Spookytwo is on here to attempt to undermine every remark.
He has lost interest in Fox because they can't get traction.
They are interested only in gumming up anything that works, like the teapeople shouting down anyone who speaks.
They have the creativity of Dennis Miller AND Ted Nugent. Remember them? I think Nugent had the beginnings of a hit song once.

I agree. It was awkward, which was a bummer. Boo. I hoped for more when they announced John Stewart would be the first guest.

My opinion of Brain Williams has just been shattered, if Jon Stewart is his buddy. Like Brian but can't stand Stewart! I won't be watching.

It's just always so sad when our heroes turn out to be human, isn't it. But that's okay. You can always watch Castle with that cutie, Nathan Fillion. He's even cuter than Brian Williams.

As the repubs would say, have a sense of humor.
Oh, yeah. You can't have a sense of humor if you are republican, unless somebody gets really hurt.

What? Jon Stewart and not Bill O'Reilly, the most powerful man in all media? i would love to see BillOs head assplode when he realizes that that pot-smoking liberal is getting the top spot over him.. (actually i would love to see BillO's head assplode when he finds out Spongebob Squarepants gets consistently better rating than he does.)

Brian Williams is a very good newsman. He followed in the foot steps of another great one, Tom Brokaw. There is no doubt that this newer news program will be good. After all, he has an outstanding news staff the includes Ted Koppel and Harry Smith. I'm looking forward with great anticipation, to a really phenomenal news show.
