Kim Kardashian filed for divorce on Monday.

Shortly after Ryan Seacrest said it was true, Kardashian confirmed the news herself and released this statement to E! News:

"After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."

TMZ first reported the news that Kardashian was splitting with husband Kris Humphries after just 72 days of marriage.

Kardashian and Humphries were married in August and their wedding was broadcast to the world earlier this month.

What a shock! A marriage dissolves when you don't try to make it work. Kim, just go back to business deals and don't even think about a marriage until you can feel the relationship comes first.
