Imagine finding out that you're going to be married -- today.
That was the case for one New Zealand groom, David Shoemark, who thought he was attending a family picnic in the park after a fishing trip.
Instead, his partner Cherie Butler surprised him with a secret wedding. The bride, waiting in a black-and-white wedding dress, proposed to him in front of 40 friends and family members. The two were married that day.
Shoemark had asked Butler to marry him several times before, but she had always responded with "One day," instead of a resounding "Yes!"
"Every time he'd ask me [to marry him], he'd turn around and say 'Oh well one day I'll just drag you down the aisle,'" Butler says in this interview Tuesday with the syndicated news show RightThisMinute. "So I got to him first."
