Marilyn

Taking on Marilyn may be the tallest order out there -- she remains one of the most legendary screen actresses of all time, remembered for her talent, stunning sex appeal and her complicated, off-stage life.

But despite the obvious challenges that lie ahead, from all accounts, Michelle Williams is doing the starlet justice.

Below are two clips from "My Week with Marilyn" that really highlight the actress' range.

The first is a sizzling rendition of Irving Berlin's "Heat Wave," with Williams in all sequins and shimmer and the second is an intimate and evocative bathing scene.

Let us know what you think!

"My Week with Marilyn" hits theaters November 23.

Good luck finding an actress who not only looks like Monroe, but it also a good actress. Marilyn herself was no great thespian.

Everyone here hates her as Marilyn, which means she'll probably win an Oscar since HP commentators have notoriously poor judgement about such things.

Just further proof. You can wear her dresses, copy her hair and makeup, study her moves; but there will never be another Marilyn. The performance is flat. Everything is there but Marilyn.

Thank you. What a miscast. It's cringe-worthy!

I love Michelle Williams and respect her work. However, there is only ONE actress who has that Marilyn Monroe look and sexiness: Christina Hendricks. Perhaps she's too voluptuous and not as good an actress as Michelle, but Christina has got the goods in the raw sex department and that same sexual but wholesome facial look.

But do you think she could act well in the role? It's the same question I had for the Wonder Woman articles. People wanted CH for her curves, but I don't think that means she's good for the role. Also, like you said, she seems too voluptuous to play MM.

Michelle Williams is an excellent actress much better than Marilyn Monrow ever was, but does not have the looks or that raw sexiness of Merilyn , no one has.

They might have gotten n actress who looks a little more like Marilyn, BUT they needed a good actress. Michelle Williams is EXCELLENT.
NO ONE looks, acts, talks like Marilyn. If Marilyns were dime-a-dozen, we'd have forgotten about her years ago. I look forward to Michelle's performance.

Agreed. The resemblance is spotty, at best, but the performance should be killer. I can't wait to see this film.

She doesn't exudes sex like Marilyn Monroe. She seems too reserve and too uncomfortable with her body.

She does not resemble marilyn at all. Marylin was soft and full bodied. This woman in a stick figure. Did they pad her body for fullness because marilyn was voluptuous. I see nothing of marilyn here.

They are both attractive but aside from the hair color, they don't look anything alike.

I watched Bus Stop, and Niagara on tv just this past weekend.....looking at that, and looking at this... Im sorry - but Ms Williams just does not have that Marilyn look....I am sure that she is a great actress....but just not for this part.

it's not just the looks. IT isn't there.

EXACTLY! Marilyn, like few others: Clara Bow, Jean Seberg, etc., had "IT." That Star Quality that lights up the screen. Wilder called it "flesh impact," but one cannot take their eyes off MM when she is in a movie.

It's like having a hockey rink play a baseball field. The two look nothing alike.

I hope she makes up for her lack of resemblance with sparkling on screen like Marilyn did. I really want this movie to be good!
