John Martinez Finds Razor Blade In Son's Halloween Candy (VIDEO)

First Posted: 11/02/11 08:50 PM ET Updated: 11/02/11 08:50 PM ET

Everyone's parents warned that sickos tamper with Halloween candy, but now there's indisputable proof that the warnings weren't just based on urban legend.

A New Mexico father inspecting his son's trick-or-treat haul found a razor blade embedded in a Reese's peanut butter cup, according to TV station KDAT. The razor was slid sideways into the chocolate-and-peanut butter sweet with a section of the sharp edge protruding.

Previosuly it was "Hey! You got chocolate in my peanut butter." Now it's "you got a razor blade in my Reese's." What will they think of next?! Silly advertisers!

A 15 year old boy would never do something like this for attention. (Sarcasm)

Why would someone do this and not even see the results of your evil deed ?
Is there a law suit? And if there is one. Who would be libel? Also, would explain who actually is claiming this happen.

Any person who does this to harm an innocent child needs to be punished severely and every Halloween display a sign on his residence saying that he hates children

ask these questions?
how easy would it be for anyone to deduce the house that the candy came from?
why would they put a razor in only ONE candy?
why are they willing to be caught by parents of a harmed child?

if this happened to a child of mine..there would be no police call...it would not take long to find the perps house.
URBAN LEGEND.
this story is a lie.

I agree. The only 'razor in an apple' ever to be found was ulitmately proven to have been placed there by the father.

Smells like BS to me... 15 year old trick or treater? Either the kid did it or the dad did. Poison/tampered with Halloween candy is an urban legend. All the investigated incidents have had a parent as the culprit.

But... people are still going to get all freaked out...

i agree with those who believe that this was done by the same parent....i have trick or treated around the states, as i moved a lot as a child going to where ever my parents would end up...i lived in cities such as New orleans, NYC, Sacramento, Chicago, Santiago Chile, etc.....NEVER WAS THERE ANY INCIDENT OF THIS....only rumors. And i also agree with the statement that someone previously posted about "cases like this can always be traced back to a family member" as they indeed have been investigated, although i do not agree with what was after where the gentleman states "if you believed this article than you voted for Obama" what does this crime have to do with people that voted for a presidential cadidate...or let me pit it this way...does one thing really have to do with another?....in all humorous sentiment i state that the gentlemen who said this voted for Cain/Palin....and is thinking about voting a sexual abuser (h. Cain), a drunk trigger happy man (rick perry), a bible thumper (romney), homosexual enthusiast LOL (bachman) for presidency.....LMFAO

I didn't know they made razors in "fun sizes"!

Seriously, I call BS on this story. There's a lot of sick jerks out there but most of them wouldn't spend money on candy just to slip a razor in it. Most would just hammer one into an apple. But in all my 23 years of life I've never heard of anyone finding a razor in their candy on Halloween.

ok,
first, a 15 year old trick or treating. a little old? i think so. second, a razor blade "conveniently" sticking out of a peanut butter cup. hmmmmm.... gives one pause. most of the razor blades in treats were apples back in the day and they were embedded (allegedly) deep enough so they could not be detected easily. hence, the candy x-rays in the 70s and 80s. seems easy enough to find the culprit. have the houses this 15 year old visited been investigated? who was giving out peanut butter cups? have they found any other "tampered" candy? my guess is not. anything to get a moment of fame and inflame the media and the general moronic american public.
