Sarah Jessica Parker Hat Impresses Audience In Australia (PHOTOS, POLL)

PHOTOS: What Is On Sarah Jessica Parker's Head?

Sarah Jessica Parker, is that you?

Indeed it is. The actress took to the stage in Australia wearing a neck-aching, face-blocking, gravitational-pulling hat created by (who else?) Philip Treacy.

Paired with a rather subtle Chanel tweed shift and Manolo Blahnik heels, SJP's fascinator (indeed, there has never been a hat more deserving of that word) impressed the 1,500 mostly female guests who attended the VRC Oaks Club Ladies Luncheon at Melbourne's Crown Palladium.

Now we don't know much about the luncheon, or Australia's upper crust social traditions in general, but the Oaks Club Ladies Luncheon seems to be a hats-mandatory event. The luncheon took place in honor of Oaks Day, Australia's version of the Kentucky Derby (hence the hats).

As for what she planned on wearing for her first ever Oaks Day race, the actress told The Age, ''I hope very much to live up to the history, glamour and tradition that has been so well-established.''

She needn't worry -- she's got glamour in spades and she's sticking to tradition by wearing Philip Treacy, who she's worn at least twice before (see the pics below)!
