Baby Lisa Timeline: New Details About The Hours Before Missing Missouri Infant's Disappearance

Baby Lisa Irwin

First Posted: 11/03/11 07:11 PM ET Updated: 11/04/11 11:54 PM ET

New details about the hours before Lisa Irwin's disappearance have painted a clearer picture of the missing Missouri infant's final night in her Kansas City home.

Stories published by The Kansas City Star, KCTV5 and WPTV offer a possible timeline of the night Baby Lisa vanished .

The information, provided by sources who remained anonymous in each of the news reports, indicates that Baby Lisa disappeared from her crib during a period of between three and four hours, according to her parents' version of events.

An undated family photo of Lisa Irwin, now 10 months old, is shown at a news conference in Kansas City, Mo., Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011. The parents of Lisa made a tearful plea for the child's safe return Wednesday, nearly two days after she disappeared, begging her abductor to drop her off someplace safe. OCT. 3

2:30 p.m.
Baby Lisa's father, Jeremy Irwin, returns to his Kansas City home from his day job as an electrician. He has a meal and plays with Baby Lisa, his son and Deborah Bradley's son, according to KCTV5.

4:30 p.m.
The 10-month-old's mother, Deborah Bradley, and her brother, Phillip Netz, head to a supermarket to buy baby food and boxed wine. A surveillance camera appears to record the couple as they shop at around 4:45 p.m., KCTV5 reports. Samantha Brando, a next-door neighbor who was visiting family's home with her 4-year-old daughter, checks on Baby Lisa in her crib. Jeremy Irwin stays at home with the kids, WPTV notes.

5 p.m.
Deborah Bradley finishes shopping and returns home with her brother, according to WPTV.

5:30 p.m.
Jeremy Irwin leaves to take on a night gig doing electrical work at a nearby Starbucks. Deborah Bradley's brother also departs the home, KCTV5 reports.

6 p.m.
Samantha Brando heads out to purchase more alcohol, according to KCTV5.

6:30 p.m.
Samantha Brando returns and her daughter sees Baby Lisa, according to WPTV. Deborah Bradley puts Baby Lisa in her crib. (The Kansas City Star has Deborah Bradley putting Baby Lisa in her crib at 6:40 p.m. and Samantha Brando returning around 7 p.m.).

The older children play inside while Deborah Bradley and Samantha Brando sit on the front porch, smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol. Between 6:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., Bradley reportedly consumes between five and ten glasses of wine.

10:30 p.m.
Deborah Bradley turns off the lights and goes to sleep. The boys fall asleep in her bed, according to The Kansas City Star. Baby Lisa's door is closed. Samantha Brando stays on the porch until 11:30 p.m. chatting with another neighbor, KCTV5 reports. She tells authorities she notices nothing out of the ordinary.

OCT. 4

3:30 a.m.
After work keeps him longer than expected, Jeremy Irwin returns home to find the lights on and the screen damaged, according to WPTV (KCTV5 has Jeremy Irwin getting home at 3:45 a.m.). He also notices that the front door is unlocked and a computer room window is open.

Frustrated by the lights being left on when money is tight -- and angry about seeing a stray kitten at the foot of the bed -- he wakes Deborah Bradley, according to The Kansas City Star.

A groggy Deborah Bradley realizes she hasn't checked on Baby Lisa, KCTV5 reports. She finds the crib empty. (WPTV reports that Jeremy Irwin is the first to realize Baby Lisa is missing).

Jeremy Irwin runs to Samantha Brando's house next door, but his neighbors say Lisa isn't there, WPTV. He realizes that the family's three cellphones are missing from a counter and dials 911 on a mobile phone he keeps for work.

Officers dispatched to the house are given the following message, according to KCTV5:

[H]e noticed that his 10-month-old daughter is missing and he's not sure how long she's been gone. And the screen is busted and he didn't witness anything.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story incorrectly referred to Deborah Bradley as Jeremy Irwin's wife. They are not married.

Hi.. Good Morning..
Well, now I've decided their are only two players in what happened to baby Lisa. Deborah and Phillip are the one's responsible. Phillip has really been laying low and their a reason why he hasn't been speaking out to the media about his missing niece. IMO
The river bank is about 1/5 miles from Deborah's home and that's were all the cell phones ended up the night Lisa went missing.
The 2:30 dumpster fire was started by Phillip to frame Jersey because they knew his history and the police would be looking for him.
Maybe the tapping that the boys heard was Phillip making changes to his appearance so he wouldn't be recognized by the neighbors.
I have a feeling Deborah had a problem with Jeremy that day and was upset because he found out about her extra activities with the neighbor's husband. Her reputation precedes her in past history.
I don't believe she was Drunk and had Blackouts like Joey is trying to Spin... Had she been that drunk, the police would have really questioned her condition at the time.
The phone calls... 11:57 she was calling about the GPS and left a message that Dane erased.
The later calls were Deborah checking on Jeremy and to see if Megan had left a message. The Internet access was only being used to check her messages/emails .... IMO

How's this one for you... the kitty that was sleeping on the foot of the bed... found in the woods while baby Lisa was being placed in the River. Why? Jeremy only notice the kitten when he came home from work... had Deborah found it earlier in the day.. Jeremy would not have mention it.... IMO She also wouldn't have left this poor kitten with all the children in the home...
Megan also received a phone call from the police the following morning checking on the GPS that was for sale on Craigslist... Dane received that call and thought someone was playing games with him . Jeremy's GPS was stolen on Aug. 16th and I believe that Deborah found out that a GPS was listed on craigslist the night she was visiting with the neighbors. I bet she was on her computer in the computer room and located the number and it just so happen it was Megan's.
Remember... Jersey gave Megan a GPS as a gift.. a stolen one... but a gift.

I think it's possible. If she thought someone had stolen her property and was trying to sell it, Deb strikes me as the kind of person who would call up and confront someone.

The only thing that makes me a bit wary is that the 11:57pm call took place a mere 18 minutes before the neighbor couple says they saw the "man with the naked baby". That just makes me think that the call was an attempt to find someone to dispose of a dead baby.

Of course, if Deb's brother was there at that point -- as he claims to know that she was "blackout drunk" -- the call could've been about the GPS and it could have happened that just after that, Deb went to check on the baby and found her unresponsive.

If brother Phil was at the house, obviously they wouldn't necessarily need to make a call for someone to dispose of the baby.

There are SOOO many predators on craigslist i cannot stress enough how dangerous it is and how easy you can fall victim to a scam, murder or theft. Someone prayed and found this family probably saw how mom was and saw an opportunity to rob the house but when they saw baby they took her. i strongly believe baby is still alive but put on the black market in another country

I have high hopes Lisa will be found but i have a strong feeling it won’t be for 15 years. i do believe someone took her but i think it was someone posing as a friend to the family, maybe a women.
The only way I believe Lisa would be deceased is this scenario: mom was drunk, got Lisa out of crib and into bed with her, mom drunk passed out rolled over on baby accidently suffocating her, they try and cover it up.

Susan Shaffer, I can't find your other comment for some reason, so I'm replying here.

This is what I have found with regards to cell companies and roaming. http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2011/05/where-the-lawsuits-roam-verizon-sues-fcc-over-data-roaming-rules.ars

So, it happens, but obviously some companies are not real happy about it.

I know that Sprint has a policy that the majority of your usage must be on Sprint's network. If you roam too much, they can cancel your service/account.

As for the actual physical towers, I do not know if they share them. I have seen articles that say yes and articles that say no.

I was reading a comment someone else made, and he/she raised a good point. If it was a kidnapper, why did the person try to use only one of the cell phones?

There were 3 phones; supposedly all were stolen. If you tried one and it didn't work, wouldn't you try the others?

actually I thought deb was in the process of copying numbers across from one that didn't work to a new one. This is why they were all together. So perhaps they did try to use the other/s.
Also since there were 3 phones it might explain why we heard that it didn't work/didn't make outside calls/actually could make calls. Each explanation was in regard to a different phone.

Supposedly, only calls were made/attempted were from Deb's phone.

Deb's dad has said that his dad, Deb's grandfather gave her his old phone. The reason that Deb wanted another phone was because her speaker was in and out. So, technically her phone did work, it was just hard trying to have conversations because of the bad speaker.

Now, according to Deb's dad, she had switched her number and service to Grandpa's phone. But, that she had to manually transfer the numbers. So, allegedly, we have 3 phones. One with a broken speaker and seemingly no service. Jeremy's phone, which was supposedly restricted. And Deb's "new" phone from Grandpa, which was getting the new numbers programmed in.

From what I understand, Deb's old phone was pretty much "dead" and Grandpa's phone was her working phone with the restricted service.

Even if Deb's old phone said "No service", Jeremy's wouldn't have. So why not try his phone if Deb/Grandpa's didn't work?

I don't know how Verizon works, but with Sprint, I have my old phone which I transferred the number from and it has no service connected, but if you look at the phone it has bars and doesn't say "No service". In fact you wouldn't know until you tried to call out, that it was inoperable.

I have also heard that their phones were to be restricted on Oct. 4th. So the call that was made from Deb's phone was made 3 minutes before the cut-off day; and that's supposedly why it went through whereas the following attempts did not.

I don't know if that's the case. I have not seen it confirmed.

Also, from the Megyn Kelly interview on Friday I believe it was, Deb's attorney John Picerno said that there were 5 attempts to reach the internet and he believes the connection was successful.

Again that's from her atty., so I don't know if it's true. Also, have heard that with Verizon, when they restrict your phone, internet/texting is still available for the first 24 hours. I have no idea whether that is true or not though.

I haven't seen anything regarding what the fa ther of Liza has said to the mother...like - how come you didn't lock the doors and turn off the lights....?? He seems to know something? I can't place it...he looks to calm - a s tranger walks into the house turns on the lights goes directly to the bedroom and takes a baby (that doesn't dry) w/o diapers, bottle etc, etc.....and walks out the door ...doesn't sound right??? Keep the parents in separate rooms - and interview them like on tv...why haven't they been arrested ?? They know where Liza is......!!!

Note that Mr. Picerno says that there are no records of Deb or Jeremy calling that particular number of Megan Wright's.

What we do not know, however, is how long Megan Wright has had that particular number; a week? a month? a year?

Yeah, he said police went back a year and didn't find that number in their phone records.

Of course that could be irrelevant if MW hasn't had that number for very long. We don't know how long she's had this number or if she's had a previous cell phone number that does show up on the logs.

I'm sure that Picerno has to know that the police/FBI would have checked out all the numbers that appear on their call logs, just to see who they match-up to.

As you said though, it sounds plausible that this may be a new number and thus why it may have been written on Deb's hand.

I think -- IF the number on Deb's hand is legit -- the thinking here may have been that it's because it was a new number to Deb because it was a new contact/person. But it could certainly just be a new number for someone she already knows.

The problem is, all the reporters trying to one-up each other. The police are tight-lipped; as they should be. So, instead we've got media types chasing so-called witnesses and "people in the know", and putting out the wrong information.

I like Cnn's Jim Spellman, but all my trust in his reporting is pretty much out the window right now. He kept saying and kept saying Megan Wright was telling the truth about the 8:30pm phone call. And now we have the Bradley-Irwin attorney in fact saying that it was an 11:57pm call.

Hi Face...I just got back into town...

I read on another sight re the above timeline - that actually 3 of them were released on the same day...most are the same with only minor detail changes, but everyone and their brother seems to be able to produce a timeline that some media outlet will print.

Spellman vs Picerno....I don't implicitly believe either of them - they are getting info from suspect sources....with different motives driving them.

Who knows what to believe.. We heard 3 different times for the first call that was reported and finally, I guess it's 11:57PM. My post below reflects what I heard on CNN earlier but now the attorney contradicts that. I think he said he got the information from a Power Point presentation that the police had.

Insofar as the pinging, I don't see how that means conclusively that the phone was in the house as FaceTheTruth says but I am no expert in these matters.

I can't imagine how the mother could have done anything with the baby. When? How? Why? Where could she have taken the baby that it could not be found? I don't see that happening unless someone else was involved.

If someone was on the front porch until 11:30 PM, an hour after the mother went to sleep, that only leaves a 4 hour window for something to happen.

There's a lot that doesn't make sense. This is stranger than fiction.

I only hope the baby will be found alive.

Re: the pinging. It was said to occur from within 1/5 of a mile to 1/3 of a mile. The Missouri River is not that much further away. The phones abruptly stopped pinging without leaving that general vicinity. Odds are the phones ended up in the river.

How could the mother have done anything? Well, she was either alone in the house with the kids -- or with her brother and the kids -- depending on which version of their story is the truth. Samantha and Shane the co-drinkers were both home and indoors by 11:30pm.

A phone call was made from Deb's phone to Megan Wright's phone at 11:57pm. Then 2 calls were made to voicemail @ 3:17. Five connections were attempted to the internet at around 3:32. Picerno said he believe the net connection succeeded.

Again, the phones were still right in the vicinity of the house all this time. What kidnapper would steal a baby and 3 phones, then hangout in the house or the backyard and try to check voicemail and try to surf the net?

Seems much more likely that Deb called Megan at 11:57 but did not get through to her. A few hours later, she tries to retrieve voicemail messages. Why? Someone called her back, or she was trying to see if there were any messages left on her vm that might be incriminating.

Barring the ability to get in touch via phone, the internet was tried. Why? Email?

Just saw some news indicating that the cellphone pinged about one quarter miles away from the home and that someone had the phone and attempted to use it at least twice (voice mail, I think) but also tried to access the internet.

This occurred AFTER 3:30AM when the father returned home. His wife was sound asleep and he had to wake her so how could she have used the phone? To me, it now looks like the baby was indeed taken from the home. I only hope she is alive somewhere.

The dad didn't get home until 3:45am he says. The phones pinged up to 15 minutes before he arrived home. And they were STILL pinging in the vicinity of the home; which means whoever had the phones did not leave the home.

The call to Megan Wright, the calls to voicemail and the internet access all happened right by the house. And it all happened right by the house up until 1/2 hour before police were called. If anything that completely disproves the idea of an intruder and kidnapper.

How could a kidnapper steal a baby; be walking around with her MILES from the house for over 4 hours, and yet the phones ping at the house for hours?

The call was made at 11:57 and the voicemail and internet access at 3:17 and 3:32. JI has stated over and over that he returned at 3:45 - unless that is another lie.

So, you are incorrect when you say " This occurred AFTER 3:30AM when the father returned home"
