'We Bought A Zoo' International Trailer: Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson Star In Family Drama (VIDEO)

First Posted: 11/03/11 12:15 PM ET Updated: 11/03/11 12:15 PM ET

It seems the seeds were planted a long time ago for Cameron Crowe's upcoming family drama, "We Bought a Zoo."

Think back to a 1996 favorite, "Jerry Maguire." Remember the little boy (who now is a beer-drinking adult), who said, adorably, "lets go to the zoo"? And while poor little Ray never did end up going because "the f*cking's zoo's closed," it seems, 15 years later, that dreams come true after all.

Based on the Benjamin Mee memoir, "We Bought a Zoo" starts off with a floundering family unit -- a father who struggles to parent his children and children who feel misunderstood. They need a change. The man then quits his job (boy, Crowe really likes to those grand I-quit-moments) and buys a house far away from his past life.

The only thing is, the house also happens to be a zoo.

And while their new life takes some getting used to, a beautiful Scarlett Johansson is there to help make the transition a bit easier.

Take a look at the newly released international trailer and let us know what you think!

"We Bought a Zoo" hits theaters on December 23rd

Scottie does know, don't tell Scottie.... Scottie doesn't knowwwww! As brilliant as Damon is, his cameo in that song was simply epic.

Crowe is in fine form: he knows how to spot a story that is different than the rest, but inject enough "formula" for general audiences to buy in; he knows how to cast loveable kids who aren't saccharine; and he is gonna get me out of arthouse theaters for this one. (Of course, I'd watch a Disney film if Matt Damon was in it.)

I am an old lady and they sure didn't make 'em like Matt Damon in my heyday. Or, for that matter those firemen of today just don't get any hotter. Oops, sorry, my mind wanders easily.

Not going to issue a Red Card on the use of the word "Handsomer" in the headline.

But unless you're Charles Dickens, if you're composing this in 2011, please use "More Handsome." Consider that a Yellow Card caution.
