Chicago Area Dogs And Cats Up For Adoption (11/4) (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 12/04/11 10:58 AM ET Updated: 12/04/11 11:00 AM ET

In partnership with several animal shelters in the Chicago metropolitan area, HuffPost Chicago is featuring a selection of adoptable, adorable cats and dogs each week.

Photos this week appear courtesy of the Evanston Animal Shelter's Community Animal Rescue Effort, Felines Inc. and, a new addition this week, the Naperville Area Humane Society. To our knowledge, all animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up-to-date with their tests and vaccinations.

If you missed the last two weeks of cats and dogs available for adoption, check them out here or here. The majority of them still need homes.

If you have an adoption shelter success story you would like to share, be sure to send a note (and a picture) to chicago@huffingtonpost.com.

Nutmeg is a 3-year old brown tabby with a lot of spunk. She'll let you know when her food bowl is empty or when she'd like to be petted. She even sits for treats. She's lived with a dog before but would do best as the only cat in her new home. Visit Nutmeg at the Naperville Area Humane Society at 1620 W. Diehl Road in Naperville. Click here or call (630) 420-8989 for more information.
