WATCH: Illinois Dad Struggles To Find Home For Him And Daughter

Though Prentiss Bailey had to move him and his daughter from their two-bedroom apartment, complete with a yard and dining room, into a tiny room in a homeless shelter, the single dad hasn't given up hope on finding a job and moving out.

"I have to keep moving forward because I know it can get worse," Prentiss told the Associated Press. "I'm thinking I'm at the bottom now, but I'm not."

Bailey lost the job he held for a decade 14 months ago and now lives in an Illinois shelter with his 10-year-old daughter, Princess. The two sleep on bunk beds, have no privacy, or a place to socialize.

"I have friends here that I made," Princess told the news outlet. "But usually, we're in the room, so I don’t get to talk to friends a lot."
