Bullying prevention: it's the topic that everyone's talking, texting, and tweeting about right now. After the suicide of 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer, Lady Gaga vowed to put a stop to bullying. Yesterday, the queen of pop announced the creation of her new anti-bullying organization, the Born This Way Foundation, under the motto "Empowering youth, inspiring bravery." In honor of Lady Gaga's foundation, here are 10 tweets about bullying prevention from your favorite young celebrities.

Calling people losers is a form of bullying and I think that the celebs who use this language are engaging in the very discrimination that they are supposedly speaking out against. This type of aggression against bullies is harmful to the process. We need to figure out why "bullies" act in such ways and look to see if we can help them process their feelings and shortcomings in a more helpful light rather than deriding them as losers. It is dehumanizing and degrading to have to be called these names by the pampered elite.

Bullying is a serious problem affecting millions of children. It can interfere with their social and emotional development, as well as their school performance. 19,000 children attempt to commit suicide every year as a direct result of being bullied. To help combat this, I have put together a bully prevention show for elementary schools & libraries called "The STOP Bullying Show". Based out of Orlando, Florida, the show raises the awareness of bullying in a fun & engaging way; while teaching kids what they can do to put a stop to it. Highlights of the show can be seen here...

I think what Lady Gaga is doing is awesome! Teens really do go through hard times during a time in there life when they are still trying to figure out who they really are. If only there was a way to reach everyone. ♥
