Imagine a fusion between "The Mighty Ducks," and "American Pie" and you'll get something close to the new hockey comedy, "Goon."
Here, Seann William Scott plays the verbally-inept muscle on a hockey team. (Kind of like The Ducks' "Bash Brothers.")
The team, however, is unconcerned with his hockey abilities outside the area of face smashing and body checks. Though, from the looks of it, the original muscle (played by a mustached Liev Schreiber) takes him under his wing and helps elevate his status past goon. (Ah ha!)
Co-written by two members of the Judd Apatow-crew, Jay Baruchel (who also plays a hockey show host) and Evan Goldberg, the film is sure to serve up lots of quippy dialogue and slapstick moments.
Scott is also appearing in the fourth installment of the "American Pie," where he'll revisit his character as Stifler in "American Reunion."
