Fire At New Belgium Brewing Extinguished, One Day Of Production Lost

Firefighters responded to a two-alarm fire Monday afternoon at New Belgium Brewery in Fort Collins.

Bryan Simpson a New Belgium Brewery spokesman, told 7News they believe a spark or machine-generated heat caused insulation in a grain silo to catch fire. The grain silo was empty and in the process of being dismantled.

No one was hurt in the blaze, and no buildings were evacuated. The greatest casualty in the incident may have been beer, as the Fort Collins Coloradoan reports the brewery lost a day of production.

No other buildings at the site were damaged in the fire, including a nearby malt storage facility, writes the Denver Post.
