Baby 'Arthur Recreates Scenes From Classic Movies' Blog Features Clever Photos By Emily Cleaver (PHOTOS)
"The Godfather," "Total Recall," "American Beauty." Now with main characters played by...a baby?
On her blog, "Arthur Recreates Scenes From Classic Movies," mom and freelance writer, Emily Cleaver, photographs her son Arthur in poses inspired by her favorite flicks. She uses props, clever "costumes," and lighting to set up the shots -- cute, hilarious (and G-rated!) re-creations of scenes from films like "The Shawshank Redemption" and "Jaws."
It all started four months ago when Cleaver took a picture of Arthur with a stuffed animal protruding from his stomach (photo 6 below).
"I was playing with Arthur one day, and the "Alien" [scene] just popped into my head," Cleaver told The Huffington Post. She posted the photo to Facebook and received great feedback from her friends. So she kept taking pictures. And, after she had three or four amusing ones, she created the blog.
The adorable 7-month-old likes attention, Cleaver admits.
"He's usually quite smiley about it," Cleaver said. Sometimes, however, Arthur starts to get a bit fussy. In those cases, Mom says she just tries again another day. She has several more ideas for upcoming poses.
"We have a list that we're working through," she said. Possibilities include scenes from "Repo Man" and "Some Like It Hot."
Cleaver is looking forward to showing Arthur the series of pictures one day, but has no current plans to turn her blog into a book. As for a future movie career for baby Arthur?
"He loves the camera," Cleaver said and laughed.
