Penn State Scandal: Your Reactions

Should Joe Paterno Step Down?

In the wake of the sexual abuse allegations that have rocked Penn State University to its core, many are calling for some of school's top brass to step down -- or be fired.

In jeopardy is the school's once-revered football coach, Joe Paterno, elevated to the level of a god on Penn State's idyllic Happy Valley campus. There's the well-liked president of the school, Graham Spanier, a family therapist and adviser to the student magic club. And, of course, there's the $70 million football program, regarded as one of the nation's stalwarts.

There's also at least nine young men who were allegedly maliciously sexually abused by a publicly respected school official, assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky. When news of Sandusky's accusations came to light, it was also revealed that the powerful figures at play may have known about them. And still did nothing.

Needless to say, shock, confusion and fury have taken hold of the campus. Students protested on campus Tuesday; one former student even burned his diploma. Everything on campus with which Sandusky came into contact -- including an ice cream flavor -- has come into question.

A school, and its pride, hangs in the balance. Overwhelming popular opinion is asking Paterno to do the right thing and step down. What do you think? Weigh in below.
