Everything is better with bacon including mashed potatoes. You'll want to make a double batch of this recipe for enjoying in private. If you like extra tang, use buttermilk in addition to sour cream, instead of milk in this recipe.

I'll probably be making my twice-baked potatoes - as an effort to not go completely traditional. If anyone wants the recipe, it's on my cooking blog:

i get stuck doing the turkey but my wife, sisters they do everything else. my favorite though is their mashed potatoes. yellow or gold potatoes, butter, kosher salt, (if you haven't tried it you should, taste much better) pepper, then mix in some half and half(dairy) and chicken stock. it is so good i almost look more forward to the potatoes than the turkey, almost. like most we all chip in and pick one part of the meal and do it well. sort of like the old jack all trades master of none routine but in reverse. my favorite holiday and for all the right reasons.

The Sweet Potato casserole is similar to my Praline Yams recipe only without the eggs, flavorings, and less sugar and flour. One 16 oz. can of drained sweet potatoes or yams get placed in 1 qt. ungreased baking dish. The praline mixture is sprinked on top: 3 tablespoons of chopped pecans, 3 tablespoons of shredded coconut, 3 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and 2 tablespoons of canola oil or melted butter. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30-35 minutes.

Sorry for my spelling error; it is "sprinkled" not "sprinked". I used yams not sweet potatoes for the Praline Yams.

nah you just made a new cooking term that is all. who knows, sprinking the turkey may catch on. at least you didn't type in spanking the turkey, lol.
