Lil Wayne And Drake: No Joint Album, Because Of 'Watch The Throne'

Lil Wayne And Drake Scrap Joint Album

The Lil' Wayne/ Drake collaboration Young Money/Cash Money CEO Birdman promised us is no more, Drizzy and Weezy confirmed to XXL magazine. It seems Young Money's favorite sons realized even they aren't up for the inevitable comparisons to Jay-Z's and Kanye's "Watch The Throne." Here Drizzy goes, lookin pitiful:

“Me and Wayne scrapped the idea of a collaboration album,” Drake exclusively told XXL. “We just agreed that it would be looked upon as…It would be sort of this competition [with Watch The Throne]. I feel like it would get caught in this whirlwind of hype. [Wayne] agreed. We just said, ‘If we do it, we’ll do it down the line. But right now is not the time.’”

As long as we're on the subject of inevitable comparisons, Drake currently owns as many sweaters as Imelda Marcos had shoes. Wherefore the same spirit here, oh bewooled one?

For now, we will content ourselves with one Lil' Wayne/Drake track they can't entirely claim as their own:
