Lionel Richie has experienced multi-platinum success with a string of hits during his career. Today the "All Night Long" singer is venturing off into country music with the release of his forthcoming duets album, "Tuskegee."

In celebration of the album's release, Richie took to the stage during this year's CMA Awards 2011 to give fans a preview of his country boy side. Check out the clip above featuring the Alabama native in action.

Richie was writing country songs back in the 80s.
He also wrote a few huge hits for Kenny Rogers.
