Country Music Awards 2011: Stars Make Sweet Music On The Red Carpet

Last night's Country Music Awards mixed sparkle with twang as singers and other celebrities feted the biggest country acts of the year.

Carrie Underwood glowed in a gold gown from Reem Acra's Spring 2012 line, while Nicole Kidman went gray in a Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2011 Couture dress, although the black pumps and choker she paired it with seemed a bit off.

Laura Bell Bundy's dress stood out among the crowd with its pleated blue attached skirt, which she seemed happy to show off. Other stars, like Faith Hill and Sandra Lee, stuck with neutral colored gowns.

We noted one ubiquitous trend: many of the ladies had their hair curled and pinned half back. And in other style similarities, Taylor Swift, who won Entertainer of the Year, wore a flowing silver J. Mendel gown that looked almost identical to Leanne Rimes' dress of the same color.

All those tacky ruffles. Looks like someone went to the Wal-Mart before these awards. Why is it Southerners have no taste? Faith Hill, however, looks great! Nicole Kidman also.(The only problem with Nicole is she has that pasty white Irish complexion we Celtic types are cursed with. Nicole, I feel your pain, especially when I forget the sunscreen!)

I never realized before just how much Leanne Rimes resembles an inbred hillbilly.

And it's pretty obvious that all those ruffles are intended to add dimension to her stick-thin frame. My mom said she thought the dress made her look like a Stegosaurus (no offense to Stegosauruses).

sorry all ...taylor and kim k will not go away anytime soon ....Why you ask?....because thats what the majority of americans want to see and hear ...I mean can you imagine even in the 50's and 60's these two even being noticed? ...much less being the celebrities they are...and worse ...making tons and tons of money off people that can barely make their monthly apartment payment! ..

Taylor Swift has GOT to go!!!! If her winning awards year after year doesn't wreak of 'daddy take care of me...I want to be a star' isn't transparent enough...just listen to her sing. She has little talent, and I wish she'd just go away!
