Jon Stewart Mocks Herman Cain's Press Conference (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart Herman Cain

Jon Stewart's ongoing field day with the Herman Cain sexual harassment scandal continued Wednesday night, with Stewart ripping apart the GOP presidential candidate's damage control press conference Tuesday.

After highlighting Cain's many third-person references, Stewart declared him to be in stage four of a political sex scandal. One being denial, two being recollection and three being "I'm not going to talk about this anymore." Four, of course, is the press conference where you stand in front of a bunch of flags and try to make it look like you didn't mess up stages one through three.

First noting Cain's solid denial at the top of the conference, Stewart wondered why he didn't start defending himself that way all along. But he was quickly reminded why, as Cain made gaffe after gaffe, undercutting his own remarks and blaming the "Democratic machine" for his media worries.

There's only one problem with that defense, though, as Stewart points out: Democrats have no problem with sexual misconduct. Come on, Cain. Don't you remember the 90s?

Obama 2012. Says it all.

He's really got to get his act right the first time, not making off-script accusations like it's all the fault of the Democratic machine. That just doesn't wash for the women who filed sexual harassment claims against him years ago at the National Restaurant Association, before his political career even started. The man is just not prepared to respond to questions.

And as for foreign affairs, he's just got to start over and make no more bloops, ever. I expect that he'll resort to singing little ditties about Libya, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, and Afganistan that his staff wrote for him so he could keep them straight. Five new verses to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star."

Actually, maybe he already did. During his Libya interview, what was that about having to "roll it back in my head" and all those lip movements? Was he singing the ditty to himself and accidentally skip a verse during the foreign affairs interview?

I would never consider supporting some cl*wn who promotes himself as a "businessman." People used to consider that the dirty word it is--of course that was back when the U.S. was the pre-eminent global economic superpower....

It looks like Cain needs to build himself "Electrified" Pants to help keep his little "Third Party" Buddy from trying to "Cross the Border illegally".

Or Perhaps he could get Anthony W. to be his Vice Presidential running mate?

The Cain, Weiner Ticket?

What a Dip Stick.

I'd rather have Perry get the nomination.
Perry may be a joke.
But Cain is a sick joke.
And decidedly unfunny these days, despite his fabulous singing voice.

I look at Herman Cain and wonder how he could be so delusional to think any woman would want to be with him. Has he ever looked in the mirror?!!

I wonder how so many could be delusional enough to give him money...

I think most men would tell you that women are easily deluded. And a good thing too, or most of us would not have our wonderful wives/girlfriends/lovers in our lives.

What is disturbing is that now the audience, hand-picked right wing, to be sure, has come down once again publicly against women who are sexually assaulted. The jeering by Limbo and the Fox talking heads are setting back women's empowerment when assaulted--perhaps setting it back decades.

As a comedy writer, and former standup, I'm glad I don't pay for Comedy Central. My daughter watches it for free on Hulu. Jon has a gig, and is always looking for material. At least he's not stealing.

I really thought John would say the reason why we want him to become the Republican nominee is because Obama would trounce him and those southern republicans would stay home on election day.

Elsa Ronningstam, associate clinical professor of psychology at Harvard Medical School and author of Identifying and Understanding the Narcissistic Personality: Referring to yourself in the third person creates distance between "I" and "he." So if you have an exaggerated view of how great you are, you could be using this distance to make yourself even bigger. Or, if you've achieved major success suddenly, using the third person could be a way to adjust to the bigger role that's been assigned to you. It's a way to enlarge yourself to fit that role.

Or if you knew you had committed some sort of atrocity, you could distance yourself from that "sinner" over there.

so Illeism is the word for using third person for the self. It's common in conceited people, wikipedia says.

Bob Dole was far from self-aggrandizing. Say what you will about his politics, but the man has integrity and an honest feeling for his fellow citizens. He's actually and architect of our current health care program.

Cain is an Occupation lier he has been making a living on it so long that
he dose not know ware the lie stops and the truth begins, but the longer he
hangs around the better for the democrats and late night comedy ! although
Perry is taking a shot at playing the stand up clown as of late !

The question being 'why would the Democrats try to destroy Herman Cain when he's doing such a good job of it himself?'
