Ashley, Mary-Kate Olsen Cover Vogue's Best Dressed Issue (PHOTOS)

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 11/10/2011 1:23 pm Updated: 01/10/2012 4:12 am

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen snagged the cover of Vogue's desirable Best Dressed Issue this month. The mag crowned the style moguls with the enviable title of Best Dressed and crowned this year the "Year of the Sister," including stylish siblings from the Fannings and the Knowleses to the Middletons and the Maras in the mix.

Posing for what is surprisingly their first Vogue cover as a pair, Mary-Kate and Ashley look extra exquisite in black lacy veils, exuding decadence and elegance in the photos by Craig McDean.

While MK and Ash are always hard to tell apart (darn twin thing!), they look especially similar on this cover, since they're hidden by face masks and all. But look closely -- can you tell who's who? (We're going to go with Ashley on the right, MK on the left...)

Click below for the Olsen twins' past magazine covers and see if you can tell the dynamic duo apart from each other as they pose side by side -- and pick up Vogue's special Best Dressed edition on newsstands November 15.

As someone who has admired their style for years now, I'm very proud of them for this honor and think they completely deserve it. They are two of the only celebrities who don't use a stylist, and who set the trends rather than follow them. The work they've done is so inspirational on top of it all. As a 20-something, I really look up to them.

A little more skin color and the Olsens could pass for starving Ethiopians.

These girls always look so miserably unhappy. There's never even a shadow of joy in their face.

Don't tell me to love them. Until they get their hair 'fashioned' or at least brushed.

Wow....Is this seriously how this world is becoming? Why is everyone so judgmental about appearnaces? They make WAY more money that I'm sure everyone here that comments, gets to be on a cover(s) of a magazine(s), star in movies, TV shows....I think they did great for themselves! Not a lot of people can say they are doing exactly what they want in life or anywhere near it. These girls work hard for their money!I'm going to take it back about 20 years and say "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!" SERIOUSLY! (This coming from a 26 year old twin)

Do you judge success in life by how much money you make? You are extremely shallow if you do.

They did great for themselves? I would think as babies they had someone else making their decisions.

Why is everyone commenting on the Olsen twins? Look around you dingbat, it is a discussion forum.

Kudos to the twins. I thoroughly enjoy their designs in The Row. Super luxury fabrics, excellent tailored fit, the "wearability" of the clothes", and a true minimalist flair. These girls certainly got a design and fit education "hands-on" since their clothes had to be specially fit to them during their acting years because of the diminutive size--even now they top out at 5 foot 1 inch!

There's a reason women flock to their designs and now Vogue has recognized it.

This must be a joke. These girls are not fashionistas, they need to hire a stylist stat. At least Pippa wear clothes that an actual being can wear and go out with. C’mon vogue, don’t choke me by forcing these two down my throat.

They still look like trolls

NOT! THEY ALWAYS LOOK LIKE THEY ARE WEARING CLOTHES THAT ARE 2 SIZES TO BIG FOR THEM.
THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL, TALENTED YOUNG WOMEN,AND THEY DESIGN GREAT FASHIONS, THEY JUST DON'T WEAR THEM...
