Chicago Area Dogs And Cats Up For Adoption (11/11) (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 11/11/11 01:04 PM ET Updated: 11/11/11 01:04 PM ET

In partnership with several animal shelters in the Chicago metropolitan area, HuffPost Chicago is continuing to feature a new selection of adoptable, adorable cats and dogs looking for forever homes each week.

Photos this week appear courtesy of the Evanston Animal Shelter's Community Animal Rescue Effort, Felines Inc., the Naperville Area Humane Society and Famous Fido Rescue and Adoption Alliance. To our knowledge, all animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up-to-date with their tests and vaccinations.

If you missed the previous weeks of cats and dogs available for adoption, visit the previous slideshows here, here and here. Though some of them have been adopted, the majority of them still need homes.

If you have an adoption shelter success story you would like to share, be sure to send a note (and a picture) to chicago@huffingtonpost.com and we will feature your tale.

Luigi is a 1-year-old rat terrier mix. He is happy, funny, playful and he snuggles, too. Due to his size, he is fragile so he will need some extra TLC. He can get very excited about sights and sounds so he tends to bark quite often -- so he may not be good for an apartment or condo. Visit Luigi at the Evanston Animal Shelter, 2310 Oakton Street. Click here or call (847) 705-2653 for more information.
