Gleeks, get ready because next week's all-new episode, "Mash Off," sounds pretty intense.
After five weeks of neglect, Finn (Cory Monteith) finally gets his time to shine. He's featured in three of the five songs this week, and it looks like he'll even get a drum solo. Shelby (Idina Menzel) also makes her vocal debut this season, singing a slow-tempo "You & I/You & I" mash-up with Will (Matthew Morrison). Shelby must really like Lady Gaga because this is her second Gaga song on "Glee," but we prefer her "Poker Face" duet with Rachel.
In "Mash Off" (Tues., Nov. 15, 8PM ET on Fox), Sue (Jane Lynch) is back, and she's going to start a smear campaign to take down her biggest competitor for the Congressional seat. Meanwhile, Puck (Mark Salling) is hot for teacher, and singing about it with his buddy Finn in the hyper garage-band cover of the Van Halen classic, "Hot For Teacher." Hopefully, the aftermath of Puck's super awkward kiss with Shelby will finally be addressed.
Speaking of Shelby, she and Will will encourage some friendly competition between their rival glee clubs, but it looks like their encouragement might lead to a verbal smack down between Santana (Naya Rivera) and Cory -- and one intense mash off ("Hit Me With Your Best Shot/One Way or Another") between the New Directions and the Troubletones.
