WASHINGTON -- For the Veterans Day three-day weekend, Metro is conducting major track rehabilitation work on the Green Line and suspending service between the L'Enfant Plaza and Southern Avenue stations. The Waterfront, Navy Yard, Anacostia and Congress Heights stations are closed through Sunday.

Because of the shutdown, Green Line trains will follow the Yellow Line to and from the Huntington terminal via the Pentagon station. The Green Line segment between Southern Avenue and Branch Avenue will remain open.

Free shuttle bus service will operate between the L'Enfant Plaza and Southern Avenue stations. An express route will include a stop at the Anacostia station while a local shuttle bus route will include stops at all shuttered stations.

Additionally, the Rockville and Shady Grove stations on the Red Line will close early on Saturday. After 11 p.m., a free shuttle bus will operate between the Twinbrook and Shady Grove stations with a stop at Rockville. The affected segment of track will reopen at Sunday at 7 a.m.
