We all know Barbara Walters for serious journalism, but it turns out the former "20/20" host had a lighter side, too -- even before she joined the women of "The View."
Don't believe us? Check out this clip from a 1991 interview she conducted with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Yes, the Ninja Turtles; Donatello, Michelangelo, and the rest of the gang. (Scroll down to watch.)
(Yes, we know this clip has been around for a long time, but it just seemed wrong not to share.)
"We take you to an abandoned subway station under the streets of New York," she narrates at the beginning of "The Barbara Walters Special" segment.
But her seemingly serious introduction takes a turn for the unexpected when the camera pans from the set's grimy exterior to the Ninja Turtles sitting on the couch.
As amusing as this interview might seem, the characters were among Walters' least favorite interview subjects, or, better said, the strangest.
"I do not want to go down in history for interviewing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," she told the New York Daily News in 2010. "I don't know whose idea it was...they all cried their wet tears on my dress. I could never wear it again."
OK, that's enough babbling on our part, just check out the video for yourself below.
