Penn State Scandal On Saturday Night Live: Devil Shocked By Sandusky, Paterno, Students (VIDEO)

By JAKE COYLE   11/13/11 01:09 AM ET   AP

NEW YORK -- On "Saturday Night Live," even the devil was offended by the Penn State child sex abuse scandal.

"SNL" cast member Jason Sudeikis reprised his role as Satan, appearing with red horns and pitchfork. The devil was informed by "Weekend Update" host Seth Meyers of sex charges against a former defensive coordinator and allegations that university officials failed to report the abuse.

Even he was disturbed by the news. Addressing Penn State students who protested football coach Joe Paterno's firing, the devil spoke directly into the camera, asking, "Do you know how bad that made you look?"

Disgusted by the scandal, the devil says, "Evil isn't what it used to be."

He pledged to quit and said he would return to his old job: customer service for a cable TV company.

approximately 4 years ago Saturday Night Live aired a pedophile skit with Alec Baldwin as a Scout Leader and Adam Sandler as a scout. Last weekend SNL singled out the PSU students as evil, when they used pedophilia as a joke. SNL is lame.

The best line - "ARE YOU HEARING THIS MAP?!" In other words, United States, look at what your win at all costs, money is the most important thing attitude has created. The skit was extremely well written and performed!

this is disgusting and NOT even the tiniest bit funny. those poor penn state students are paying for the UNINFORMED and EXTREMELY BIASED remarks the media and ignorant people are making. the action of ONE person does not define the university as a whole. Does anyone even know about the over 10,000 students that attended the vigil on Friday? or the Penn State RAINN program that is raising money for child abuse/molestation awareness? How quickly everyone is to judge when they listen to the typical liberal media stations and don't know the facts. PSU is praying for the victims and everyone involved so leave them out of it. They WILL rise above this and still be considered a top-ranked university!

You and your ilk blame the "liberal media!" In the first place, the media is owned by conservative Republicans. NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox...........Republican owned. So your research.

Now......this group wealthy pedophiles came out of the closet during the 60's. Book "Boys From Boise." Located at Eastern Washington State Library Archives. The next one connected.......Larry King/Franklin Savings scandal of Omaha, NE....Republican pedophile scandal, which include testimony about George Herbert Walker Bush. Also, Cain ran with the same crowd. Now we have Second Mile Charity connected to Penn State.............and once again George Herbert Walker Bush is mentioned. And if your too young to remember.....during GHW Bush administration some of his people brought a group of young male prostitutes into the White House............for a tour in the a.m. hours! The story was covered in all the newspapers.

There's a documentary online FREE - "Conspiracy of Silence." Was suppose to air on Discovery Channel.......was listed in the TV Guide........but seems the Bush people stopped it
from airing!!!!

Are you speaking of the kids that overturned the TV truck on Thursday?

At how about that collection at the game on Saturday? 106,000 people and all they could scratch up was $22,000? That's less than a freakin' quarter a person!

And all those folks dressed in white because someone on the radio told them to do so to support Joe Pa? I'm feeling more and more like the guy that videoed himself burning his Penn State diploma had the right idea. I'd be disgusted to have gone there and finding out that this was transpiring while I was around.

Excellent skit that makes a point about the morality of young people. Hope a lot of kids watched it.

I have to say, that was handled darn near perfectly. Cracking jokes about the story, considering the awful allegations etc, is not something that can be done easily without coming across as insensitive. The fact they managed to avoid sounding insensitive while getting laughs is a sign of skilled acting/writing.

This sketch gets a 9/10 from me.

I am not surprised that the university played the football game on Saturday. Is this sport that much more important than the children who were viciously attacked?
11:25 AM on 11/16/2011
So because these kids were sexually abused by a member of the coaching staff it means that the students who had NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS have to give up the rest of their football season?

Yea, that makes sense... ::rolls eyes::

Sandusky can fulfill his other dream now. He can be head coach at the State Penn.
08:55 AM on 11/14/2011
Yeah, not only that, but Rockview is only a few miles away, and if Sandusky has good behavior the University and the State(PA) can negotiate(fix) a work release for him so he can have access to the Penn State football facilities so he can rape more boys, knowing that they'll cover it up as best they can and negotiate another "deal" with him because the system of corruption has provided such superb protection for all the football program personnel until now. Second to none! Hell, almost 100%. If only that meddling McQuery wouldn't have seen them in the showers that day and squealed to Paterno, none of this would have been blown out ot the water and our beloved Penn State would still have its reputation intact. Who cares about some kids anyway.

You REALLY think ANYONE at Penn State wants ANYTHING to do with Sandusky?! He is accused of ruining these children and has indeed ruined the reputation of the university and is BANNED from campus! Your illogic is absolutely breathtaking.

The Penn State students protesting Paterno's firing deserve a LOT more grilling than this. They, more than Paterno or the culprit, have anni hilated that university's reputation.

Totally untrue. Paterno was in a position of power. He had a duty and obligation to protect that child, and he didn't.

Don't believe everything you think.

Paterno's damage was to the children, and he has tainted the university. What the students did was tell the whole world "Well, we don't really care about those kids, our football coach is more important."
Bad apples can be found anywhere, but when society at large (in this case the student body) sides with the perpetrators it sends the horrifying message that child rape isn't that big of a deal. This, in spite of the fact that only a tiny percentage of students participated in the mass gathering at Paterno's house.
There were students who held vigil for those who were victimized, but they didn't get the same level of coverage because they didn't turn over any news trucks.

Paterno and the culprits did not ruin the university's reputation. They are outliers who will be dealt with. The firing and the prosecutions to come will take care of those men and remove them from the equation. But the students who rallied by the thousand to support football over the well-being of children and told the world "we don't care" ? THAT has brought Penn State to an abysmal low that will not soon be forgotten.

Many more students than those who protested the firing turned out for a candlelight vigil for the victims the night before the game, and players prayed before the game for the victims. But you don't hear reports about these actions of students' concern for the victims.

That doesn't change the fact that thousands took to the streets to protest Paterno's firing -- NOT the children's welfare -- and flipped over a news van to make their point.

Given that horrifying display of twisted values, there is no worse student body on the planet than Penn State.
