Georgetown Students Criticized For Not Joining Occupy Protests
WASHINGTON -- Are Georgetown University students part of the 1 percent? According to the Hoya, there's been a lack of involvement by Georgetown University students in Occupy movement.
Students from other D.C.-area schools, such as Howard University, American University and the University of Maryland have been much more active in the Occupy protests in the nation's capital.
Ben Johnson, a freshman at American University who has participated in the Occupy D.C. protests told the Hoya Georgetown University lives in its own world: "Georgetown as a community doesn't really want to have anything to do with this movement, because Georgetown as a community benefits from the current system," Johnson said.
