Surfing gets his goat, literally.
Goatee, the pet nanny of Dana McGregor, became a fuzzy favorite wave rider in Grover Beach, California after video showed her surfing to shore.
McGregor told KSBY TV that he acquired Goatee five months ago to eat weeds and clear poison oak in his backyard.
As a treat, McGregor took his pet goat to the beach on a calm day to teach her to surf, KSBY reports. Goats are known for their steadfast footing on hillsides. Perhaps a genetic predisposition towards poise and balance enabled Goatee to get the hang of the sport. Her owner said that after 30 minutes in the water she rode a few waves.
