Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino Suing Abercrombie & Fitch... Three Months Late

Posted: Updated:

Did The Situation lose track of time?

TMZ reports that Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is suing Abercrombie & Fitch after the company offered to pay him to not wear its clothing... three months ago.

You might recall the, well, situation: back in August, Abercrombie extended a deal entitled "A Win-Win Situation," saying:

"We are deeply concerned that Mr. Sorrentino's association with our brand could cause significant damage to our image. We understand that the show is for entertainment purposes, but believe this association is contrary to the aspirational nature of our brand, and may be distressing to many of our fans. We have therefore offered a substantial payment to Michael 'The Situation' Sorrentino and the producers of MTV's The Jersey Shore to have the character wear an alternate brand. We have also extended this offer to other members of the cast, and are urgently waiting a response."

At the time, the seemingly bald-faced insult was taken in stride. Sure, Sorrentino was none too happy and took to Twitter to express his disappointment. But the episode faded away as the reality star simply shook off the embarrassment.

Now, as if he just remembered what happened, Sorrentino is serving Abercrombie with a lawsuit, for both using him and his reputation as a marketing ploy as well as borrowing signature "Jersey Shore" phrases like "GTL" for use on products.

The "damages," according to Sorrentino? A cool $4 million.

Which sounds like a large sum, until you recall that Abercrombie was the one who offered to pay The Situation in the first place. So we're guessing the company's got some extra cash earmarked for "Jersey Shore cast members" laying around.
