'Mirror, Mirror' Trailer Released: Which 'Snow White' Is The Fairest Of Them All? (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

First Posted: 11/16/11 08:50 AM ET Updated: 11/16/11 02:09 PM ET

It's almost like a meta-comment on the fairytale itself: Two "Snow White" adaptations, both competing for the top spot. The first, "Snow White and the Huntsman," imagines a haunting tale with an armor-clad Kristen Stewart and the second, "Mirror, Mirror," is a light-hearted, technicolor fairytale that feels like its goofy cousin.

Sure,"Snow White and the Huntsman" looks cool and is sure to bring in more of a male audience than most fairytales. But let's not discount the value of humor!

"Mirror Mirror" imagines a play-like story (that feels a bit like a middle school production) with over-the-top costumes and a quippy, strapped-for-cash Julia Roberts stealing the show.

Nathan Lane adds a bit of vaudeville-loveliness, though we're half expecting some "Birdcage" lines to slip out ("one does want a hint of color, your majesty!")

And while Armie Hammer and Lilly Collins sure look the part, the trailer (oddly enough) doesn't really focus on their impending romance. Though, we do get that steamy sword scene.

Check out the trailer and let us know who you think is, well, the fairest of them all.

This movie looks like it will be lots of surreal fun - gorgeous to look at. I can't believe that some people are upset by the costumes and sets looking unconventional - they're playful and creative.

No, not after seeing Charlize showing tricks half her age how it's done.

Granted, the target audience for both films appears entirely different, but there's just nothing even remotely appealing in this after seeing 'The Huntsman' trailer.

I'm excited about both movies - they coincide with the release of my debut novel-- DEWITCHED THE UNTOLD STORY OF THE EVIL QUEEN ... what if the EQ didn't die after lightning struck that cliff and she was given a chance at a happily ever after life. Yes, the SW story unravels... think Wicked the Musical meets SW..... I co-created Power Rangers.... so I know I'm on to something Contact me -ellenlevysarnoff@aol.com. If Julia doesn't reprise her role as the EQ, I want Angelina!!!!

I'm so excited about both these movies because they coincide with the release of my novel, DEWITCHED: THE UNTOLD STORY OF THE EVIL QUEEN. What if the EQ didn't die after lightning struck that cliff and she was given a chance at a happily ever after life? The SW story will never be the same... contact me at ellenlevysarnoff@aol.com

Why does Hollywood always do this? "Let's put out two movies that are based on the same premise!" Stupid!

Looks awesome!

Looks cute... but I can already tell Julia Robert's has a really bad, and terribly inconsistent, British accent. If you're that bad at it, just don't do it!

Terrible, terrible costumes. Terrible, terrible eyebrows. And I can only hope this won't turn out to be a terrible movie as well.

I am certainly with you on the eyebrows. Wow.. Just wow.

LOL first thing I noticed. What no tweezers on the set. Geez someone could have at least sprung for some candlewax

Ummm....no.

For a second I thought the movie was going to be Snow White meets Bollywood type of movie.

I should play the evil queen. I am a much closer fit than Roberts. But then I am not famous. But I am "mirror mirror on the wall" beautiful and in costume - wonderfully wicked.

Plus I look like I could be Collins older sister- ahem - young mother.

I showed both trailers to my 7yo daughter, and she was actually excited about the Huntsman. That mirror special effect even wowed her.
