Wendy Williams Disses Gayle King's CBS Show, Worries About Oprah (VIDEO)

Wendy Williams isn't too sure about Gayle King's move to CBS. On her Wednesday show, the talk show host said she was sad to see King leave Oprah Winfrey's network, asking whether the departure would mean trouble between the two best friends.

Williams' comments came on the heels of CBS' announcement that King and Charlie Rose will be anchoring "The Early Show," which will be revamped with a hard news focus.

Williams dissed the network's new approach, equating "no fluff" with "no fun to watch." "You can't talk about Lady Gaga's meat dress or Justin Bieber's baby?" she asked. "Everyday can't be a hard news day."

But Williams was more concerned about the state of King and Winfrey's friendship. The bond between the two women is, of course, legendary. The new gig means that King will be leaving her shows on OWN and Oprah's radio station.

"I'm sad that she's leaving Oprah," Williams bemoaned. She also criticized King for her burgeoning friendship with 50 Cent, who has dissed Winfrey before. She wondered, "Gayle, is it the beginning of the end with you and Oprah? Please say it ain't so. You guys have been friends since you wore the same underwear during that snowstorm in Baltimore."

Williams might be pleased to know that King's departure appears to be amicable.

With OWN being in serious trouble, it would be like Oprah to encourage her friend to seek greener pastures. Or the alternative might be that the Gayle King show was not doing well and Gayle offered to leave to allow Oprah to do what needs to be done to save the network. I think that these are true friends and whatever decisions they made they did for the benefit of them both.

Puleeze!!! Gayle was an anchor in CT in her own right. Why wouldn't Oprah be proud for her friend's opportunity and choice???? WW, whose talent I do not get, is just the typical Rona Barrett, trying to put smoke where there is none.

Glad Gayle is leaving Oprah XM, if it's true. The station needs a serious revamp. It's boring. Love Dr. Berman. Hate Gayle's show. What happened to that quirky O editor? The one with the long-time live-in boyfriend...forget his name, but they have a kid together...She's fantastic. Very smart and funny.

Wendy is just jealous because Gayle is a millionaire and everyone knows who Gayle is because of her friendship with Oprah and no one knows or care to know who Wendy is. She is a rude, drag queen looking amazon women who are just jealous of other women who are successful. Didn't Whitney Houston tell her wig wear butt off before. She needs to keep her mouth closed and hope that sad little show of hers stay on the air.
