Kristin Cavallari Slams Report On Alleged Affair With Scott Disick
The cover of Life & Style this week screams "BETRAYED: Scott's Affair With Kristin" in large-set font, but now alleged mistress Kristin Cavallari is speaking out. The actress slams the report that she and Kourtney Kardashian's boyfriend Scott Disick had an affair several years ago while the pair were temporarily separated -- and that she and Disick continued to "[hook] up on and off for a year, maybe even two."
Disick is now the father of Kourtney's one-year-old son Mason; the two have been together since 2007. Meanwhile, Cavallari is dating Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, to whom she was previously engaged. The history between Cavallari and the Kardashian tribe goes far: fans might remember Cavallari was once close to Kardashian sisters while she was dating Kardashian step-brother Brody Jenner on MTV's "The Hills."
In an interview with Billy Bush on Wednesday, Cavallari pointedly said the claims are simply untrue and questioned the Kardashian family's motivations. "What convenient timing for them with their show premiering next weekend and everything that's going on for Kim [Kardashian], I feel like they're trying to take the heat off her," Cavallari said. "When there's a big story like that, they always call you and ask if you want to comment and clearly none of them denied it... It's disrespectful to me and Jay [Cutler] and I think it just says a lot about their character."
CORRECTION: A previous version of the article said that Cavallari was engaged to Jay Cutler and that she had met Brody Jenner on "Laguna Beach"; she and Cutler have, in fact, called off their engagement but remain a couple. Cavallari dated Jenner while on "Laguna Beach" but the relationship was first documented on the following MTV series, "The Hills."
