The OWN Network gave us some insight on what it's like to have Oprah for a boss, but how about having her as a landlord? Some moneyed Chicagoan is about to find out.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Oprah's put a 3-bedroom, 3.2-bathroom co-op up for rent, which she reportedly purchased in 2006 for $5.6 million.
The billionairess never actually moved in.
For $15 thousand a month, the lucky renter can do as they please amid the home's 10-foot ceilings, two fireplaces, inner foyer, library, solarium, formal dining room, butler's pantry, wine room, custom kitchen, 1,241-square-foot master bedroom and en-suite guest bedroom -- so long as it all meets with the co-op board's approval.
Oprah allegedly won them over when she purchased the place five years ago, promising to make it her full-time residence, but apparently reneged on her agreement, opting instead to spend her time in the duplex condo she's owned for years at the Water Tower Place just a few blocks away.
At one point Oprah even considered selling the now-for-rent unit, listing it for $6 million in June 2008. It stayed on the market until January 2009, the Tribune reports.
