Oprah may have her hands full with her television network, but 2012 is about to get even busier with the premiere of her new primetime series on OWN.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that "Oprah's Next Chapter," debuts on New Year's Day. The two-hour premiere, which will air at 9 p.m., will feature Oprah's chat with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler.

The show will feature Oprah talking to public figures, including Sean Penn, George Lucas and Paula Deen, and other people outside of the studio. "After 25 years I got myself out of the studio chairs. I moved into the next chapter, and I am having more fun than ever -- moving around the country and the world talking to people I'm really interested in getting to know and I think viewers will be, too,” Winfrey said in a statement.

The show, which was first announced in 2010, is one of several new additions to OWN's line-up. The network also announced a new reality show featuring supermodel Beverly Johnson. These changes are the latest efforts to bolster the young network's ratings.

The news comes on the heels of Gayle King's announcement that she will be leaving her show on OWN to anchor CBS' morning show.

I thought the show was boring and Oprah's interview didn't cover any new ground that wasn't brought up in Steven's book. In fact, Oprah looked utterly bored to be there. She basically needs to leave the airwaves. I think people have caught on as to how narissistic she is and that she really cares more about herself than other people. Frankly, the next chapter I'd like to see if the complete disappearance of OWN and Oprah...

The problem with OWN is Oprah keeps producing shows SHE (not other people) want to watch: mostly shows about herself. After she's done yet another show about herself, she does reality shows about has-been stars. Who's Beverly Johnson? I've never even heard of her.

Oh, I get it. Every time I say anything the least bit negative about Oprah, you trash my comment. Gee, thanks.

I DVR'd Lisa Ling's "Incarceration Generation." Looking forward to it.

Love the new Rosie show...as well as Oprah's life class.

Keep up the great work, Oprah. You are a refreshing alternative to all the graphic sex, violence, smut, vulgarity, etc. on TV. Love you!

Everyone loves Oprah, however this television OWN is full of rehashing and not very interesting whatsoever.....she has to offer something that is totally interesting and inspiring that will top all other stations and she has not done it as far as I can see. More reality shows is not gonna do it Oprah!

That what you get! Oprah! All those show on your network and none for your own people. THE ONLY BLACK YOU HAD WAS YOUR BUDDY GAIL! Like that the only black ya know! What goes around comes around. Black america supported you and you just kick us to the curb. IT CARMA BABY!

She's the most narcissistic person on TV. Yes, she's wealthy and I'm jealous etc etc.
But, seriously...she has a show on OWN called "masterclass" in which famous people give interviews about their life. It was interesting. These famous people, i.e., masters, get 1 hour. Then, she did a show on her self which lasted 2 hours! What the F?

This is how I summarize Oprah:
"I'm Oprah Winfrey. I'm very kind and generous. I'm spiritual. I'm sophisticated, and down to earth. I pray to god. And i'm a seeker of truth and wisdom. I value humanity, and understand the struggle. I think it's the experiences that make us who we are.
Now, here's the iPad 2, and a $900 cashmere sweater from Ralph Lauren. It's my faaaaaaaaaaaavorite thaaaaannggg."
